wut? me and Jersey Girl say the same thing, but I need to document where I got those ideas, but she does not? fascinating logic.

Actually that's a lie, proved in my previous post.

And more sexist behavior from Water Dog-Schryver!

Worth repeating again, since WD/WS has decided to be sexist in his comparison of quantity of posts:

I don't want anything documented. I'm just indulging Lemmie's self-trolling.

Okay. If you change your mind, repost anything I've stated and I'll come up with documentation.

just fyi, so you can see his comment in perspective about you and he "say[ing] the same thing," here are a few more of the statements I asked him to document in earlier pages. Some you already addressed but he hasn't:
WD wrote: It's not uncommon for women to get married having never masturbated a single time in their life... they literally never had the urge to do so.
WD wrote: In terms of the science too, my understanding is that for men a kind of gay gene has been found. For women though, not so much.
WD wrote:As I understand it, a gay boy could start to have a physical attraction to men starting around that 12-14 age range. Not so much for girls though. A girl having those kinds of strong physical feelings would be a sign of abuse...

Hi Jersey Girl, I wanted to come back to your comment here:
*Often children will leave it at their announcement because they know the topic is sensitive and they might feel anxious about what else might be said or feel a sense that they'll be in over their head. When the child opens the door, make sure you leave it open.

When you pose simple and open ended questions over time, and create a hospitable dynamic where a child feels free to express themselves, you will hear indications about what information the child already has about themselves, their conceptual framework, regarding the topic they've raised. It's okay if you want to correct, explain or clarify misconceptions, but do not lead the child far beyond the information they've presented.

The only way you'll know if they know is when you hear it in their articulation of the topic.

I really like this, thank you for spelling it out.

I can document anything I've stated here if someone identifies it for me. As I've indicated, I don't see that research is solid regarding sexual orientation. I do tend to lean toward the influence of prenatal hormones on the developing fetus acting almost as a teratogen producing atypical outcomes as a reasonable working hypothesis. I'm not a biologist but that is what makes sense to me. Then we need to consider those who forward the idea that homosexuality is part of the evolutionary process that keeps down the production of the herd and just as many who are offended by the idea that homosexuality is an anomaly or birth defect. The list of offenses vs hypotheses never ends.

I am convinced that environmental factors (mainly early sexual abuse) fold into what becomes our sexual self concept and yet there are other outcomes of early sexual abuse that have nothing to do with sexual orientation at all. Our temperament is also a factor in how we are changed or unchanged by those types of experience.

If we could unpack our brains at various intervals for examination we might be close to an answer. I'm fascinated by the idea that autisim (the extreme reptilian brain) is also caused by prenatal hormones right up to the point where I recognize that mothers don't need one more thing to blame themselves for and guilt trip on.

The only solid answer I can hang my hat on is the one that tells me to make myself willing to listen to the expressions of others about this topic with an open mind, consideration, and respect for the journey.

Savannah is still watching me post.

That's how we follow cognitive development, Lemmie.

Let me show you a simple example I like to use to demonstrate. I'll improvise the ages and stages. Watch how the schemata changes over time.

What is the bank?

Age 5: The bank is where I get lollipops and the dog gets his treats.

Age 15: The bank is where I go with mom to get money for my new sport shoes.

Age 20: The bank is where I put money earned during college to save up for my car.

Age 25: The bank is where I deposit money and so I can pay my bills. Who the hell invented rent?????

I guess I'm not done with the thread. Got this off the exmo subreddit:

https://www.LDS.org/friend/2008/10/test ... e?lang=eng

My Testimony

1. I know that God is our Heavenly Father and He loves us.
2. I know that His Son, Jesus Christ, is our Savior and Redeemer.
3. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God. He restored the gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth and translated the Book of Mormon by the power of God.
4. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord’s Church on the earth today.
5. I know that this Church is led by a living prophet who receives revelation.

As you develop your testimony, don’t be afraid to share it! As you bear your testimony, you can use phrases like “I testify that …” or “I know that …” Your testimony will grow stronger when you share it with others.

I mean, holy Hell. The Church has literally templated how to give a testimony for children and then encourages them to give bare it as often as tolerable.
