Re: Juliann Gets Her Comeuppance Over On MD&D
I wonder if they understand that it is the cynical members over there, like MFB, Scotty "Baghad Bob" LLoyd, and the extremely homophobic USU78, who drive away members faster than anyone else?
One person even suggested having a forum where the only "faithful members" would post, but they would be kind enough to let the apostates read it.
"Have you now or have you ever been an apostate?"
It's comical that Juliann thinks that somehow there is this core of "faithful members" who are being threatened over there. Like, somehow, true Mormonism is being represented on that board. "Faithful Mormons" if there is such an identifiable group, stay away from discussion boards like MAD.

There are TBMs who are open to information, who are reasonable and compassionate, and they have my respect, unfortunately, that board does not follow such a pattern.
Perhaps they need to rename the board to:
"Mormon Dialogue and Correlation Board".

Well, juliann really wants to be in control over there, but even her extreme methods on this thread have failed miserably. This discussion has dissolved because most left the thread and had no interest in continuing or appearing to support her methods. She was left with her groupies (Calm and BlueDreams mainly and that offensive USU78 who she is usually rude to too).
Now she's pretty much left to discussing with the very types of posters she was banning or asking to leave in the beginning of the thread in a effort to save face. What a ridiculous thread and she's ended up looking foolish.
Meadowchik, were you banned over there? I've noticed you haven't posted since you asked the questions about the mods in the Board Guidelines thread. Or have you just decided to stop posting there?

I haven't even looked since that post. Figured I would live the spirit of the post and stop enabling.

Yes I saw that and I agree her OP was awful, but then how she went on to treat many good members there was even worse. I don't think she has as much support over there as she thinks (or at least thought before this thread

Oh, ok. I thought your post asked a great question and I also thought how juliann and calm reacted was pretty juvenile

I believe a lot of members there..TBM's or not..are embarrassed by her actions.
On other threads recently, I have agreed with her and gave her a rep or responded. Some poor souls over there respond to me knowing that I never will get any reaction from her. Kindness, I believe is not in her vocabulary. I felt bad for Mormons there that were truth seeking and had real questions. To delete their posts was a lot more devastating than to delete mine. Some may even fall off this fence they are on..

Yes, such as how rude she was to JulieM (who from what I can tell is still an active, believing member but just has some questions). She told her she wasn't welcome on the thread after JulieM posted that maybe everyone needs a reminder to be more civil with each other at times.
But then, juliann turns around and tells Teancum (who I love, but posts some very harsh criticisms and most cynical posts against the church that I've seen on MD&D):
"We go so far back I feel like I have watched your transition ...to the degree you have shared it. We all have bad hair days, all of us. I would put you in that category on your off days because you ultimately show that layer of graciousness that has always been there. It wouldn't be MDDB without Teancum."
She is just all over the place and really seems quite unstable, in my opinion.

Thanks so much for asking. I confess it feels good that someone noticed!
It's too bad they reacted that way...I would be happy for that forum to develop more integrity in its management.
Alas, by their fruits...

Re: Juliann Gets Her Comeuppance Over On MD&D
Seems MDDB has been struggling for a balance for a very long time now.
I'm only guessing, but assume the majority of active members there are NOT millenials. One might ask, why doesn't Smoot step up to Dan's old King of MADB position, surely it's available to him and the likes of other younger members of the apologetics community?
Ultimately MDDB is toast without an influx of new young millennials. But unfortunately for them these younger millennials don't seem to behold to the old school apologetics that the current regulars there adhere to.
Funny how things have changed from the MADB haydays of the apologist, to the owning of the board by 'unworthy' Mormon liberals.
All smiles here
