You have to check out some of the tweets from a reporter that had tried to investigate the collusion story. He fully highlights how absolutely insane it is that DTjr just shared all the information himself.

I tracked down sources. Followed so many dead leads. Labored over this. And then, he just, you know, tweeted out the proof.

I don't think it ever occurred to journalists to just ask one of the Trump's for proof of collusion. In retrospect that feels nearsighted?

It's just so bizarre. As an independent journalist you work crazy hard hoping something will fall into your lap and...he tweeted it? 2/

Like, so many people out there were trying to track this down. And it just...got delivered on a tweet. What the hell.

“F” Trump and his lying, condescending, traitorous piece of motherfucking garbage son. I can't wait for true patriots to put you and your shill son in prison, you treasonous bastards.

Let's hope it's big enough to blast Trump out of the White House. As a country, we can't keep dealing with the chaos and suspicion now focused on the White House. It makes us look unstable to the entire world and we can't function under those conditions.

Nothing positive can come from chaos.

I was on board as best as I could be in the beginning of this term. I wanted to see this president succeed as much as I would any other president and why not? Since when the president is successful our country is likewise successful and thriving.

But, Trump is on a race to the bottom with this mother of all crap shows which is his presidency and is taking us all with him.

Are the reporters nice looking women? Maybe he's enjoying getting screwed. It's probably been a while.

Trump's "If you're listening Russia" speech now takes on an even darker tone. It coupled with the crazy suspicious timing of statements on Clinton's server emails implies they fully believed Russia had the capacity to release them. That means either Russia did and held off out of nuanced calculation or they didn't and the security of her emails held up. Either way, think about that.

Literally everything takes on a darker tone, though. Kushner trying to set up a secure back channel to Russia through their embassy? Now that we know what we know, the worst explanations for that are probably right. The list of stories to reconsider is long.

With the Republican response so far being a range of tepid criticism to outright dismissal, maybe getting this part out now serves as inoculation for more damaging information coming down the pike. He's just beating someone else to the punch. Got to bite the bullet sometime on that theory.

That's my best non-moronic explanation for this release I can think of. And even then, I'm 99% certain normal lawyer advice would be to shut the hell up.

Uh, Trump Jr. released the material itself. It is a smoking gun, like Nixon tweeting out the Watergate tapes for some reason. If you mean it doesn't directly implicate Trump, there is a strong case for direct connection in the publicly available information at this point.

The investigation has the capacity to and probably is uncovering more, but it's no longer necessary to wait for it to know some profoundly damning information. To that I'd say that if there is smoke everywhere, and you see a flash of fire, there's probably a raging fire.

This is a rotting kettle of fish. At this point who shouldn't lawyer'd up, and listen/obey to that lawyer?

The email chain references it being part of Russia and its government's attempt to elect Trump. That this doesn't immediately elicit response that says, "What support? What are you talking about?" tells you that it was already understood that this was going on by the Trump camp. It also should make you very curious about what the other parts are. We now know what Russia did do, but that doesn't mean that's the same as what their plans were.

It is a Smoking Gun, but it still requires more evidence for any formal trial. We need a complete and thorough investigation into this S---show of a Presidency. Then Impeachment in the House which is the formal charges/indictment. Then Trial in the Senate. Public thoughts really don't amount to much in light of what is needed yet to occur. Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves, even if/especially if, we are right about him.
