I suspect if he doesn't believe anymore he will come out at some point and say so.

If it's nothing criminal, then the Church could have simply and quietly released him next Conference and offered him the option of resigning after that. I see absolutely no need in this case, where Hamula was not seeking any personal attention, to make this public and in doing so punish his entire family for a mistake he alone made.

Why the big show of strength (at the cost of the Hamula family) all of a sudden?

Interesting. Where did you read that?

The Salt Lake Tribune. The author said that was the only reason to shame him by doing a press release of the excommunication.

Is Oaks the directing force behind all of this real estate development company crap? If so, as someone close to the demolition of the CCNZ, Hamula may have been affected by local member pushback to the point where he started to question Oaks' possible role in this.

moksha, I can't locate this information on Oaks and Hamula at the Tribune. Was it in the comments?

In the comments. The poster who mentioned it seemed to be familiar with the subject and events. Wonder if they clashed on the New Zealand issue or something else? Would a dramatic excommunication announcement occur based on some extramarital activity?

If there is just a run-of-the-mill "sin" involved, and I'd think if it were more the press would have figured it out by now, then under the good-ole-boy unsaid agreement to look the other way this is not a problem at all. However, stand in the way of profiteering? IF that's what's going on, then suddenly, the dossier get dusted off and reviewed critically.
Lou Midgley 08/20/2020: "...meat wad," and "cockroach" are pithy descriptions of human beings used by gemli? They were not fashioned by Professor Peterson.

LM 11/23/2018: one can explain away the soul of human beings...as...a Meat Unit, to use Professor Peterson's clever derogatory description of gemli's ideology.
