JP,

Are you seriously suggesting Mr. Peterson has no idea how, what, where, and when he's committed plagiarism? On top of that, are you seriously suggesting he doesn't have access to an online plagiarism checker, maybe, say, like a moron like myself could easily use, and, you know, check his own articles that have been published by Deseret News?

I think you're getting a kick out this! YOU ARE A TOTAL FRENEMY!

If, as Everybody Wang Chung indicated, there are several members of BYU faculty watching this site, then reporting what they choose to have happen is likely already underway. At this point, if Dan has one place where these references are mentioned, he at least has the opportunity to fix what is there.

I usually just ignore JP, but she has made this same comment over and over.

As far as I know the faculty are watching to see if DCP will self-report as required under the Honor Code that DCP signed and agreed to when he became an employee of BYU.

Has DCP done so? If not, why?

JP,

Take this article:

https://www.deseretnews.com/article/700 ... hrist.html

Run it through a plagiarism checker, paragraph by paragraph, and tell me what you come up with...

Let me know if I missed any of the sources or direct quotes an author might provide in order to avoid a charge of plagiarism. Thanks in advance.

That's all I'm going to point out because the rest is even more damning.

What is with this shifting responsibility to others? An academic has signed an honor code agreement. He has authored pieces that contain evidence of plagiarism.

And it's the responsibility of posters on a message board to lead him to those instances of plagiarism?

Screw you, Doc. That’s not at all where I’m coming from. I was against this damned thread to begin with. Now it’s gone on for God knows how many pages. It’s obvious that you guys seem to have a hell of a lot of time on your hands going through and finding all of this stuff. And to what end? I find it absolutely bizarre the amount of threads that have been dedicated to DCP in one way or the other, and the intense hate toward him that has been expressed by some of the posters here over many years, even after the man stopped posting here.

I’m disgusted by the whole thing.

I think, however, that at this point, this thread can serve as a service to Dan because he actually has one point of reference where he can go through and fix the problem.

Yeah, I don’t get that either. Having been shown that the problem exists, isn’t it Peterson’s responsibility to do something about it? He can check his work as easily as Lemmie, Tom or Doc.

Oh yeah. Nit pick spelling errors on a thread where an academic (professor) has been found plagiarizing for years.

Pathetic.
