What's the deal with the Conservatives' obsession with restrooms? It's bizarre.

You mean they have a WELL-REGULATED MILITIA?

In case it has not been reported in the national media, a second student victim in the Parkland massacre was also LDS. She has undergone three surgeries so far and is not out of the woods yet.

Her first name is the same as that of one of my granddaughters and her last name is a variation of ours. It's sort of disconcerting. We have not seen her name in the media yet, and we hope that such will remain the case.

Pretty solemn around here these days. my wife has begun preparing food for the first funeral.

There was a candlelight vigil last night. More than 1000 were in attendance. Students throughout the district are speaking out against gun violence and politics as usual. Trump was asked not to come to the school. The pussygrabber-in-chief apparently ignored the publicized wishes of the students, and said he intended to visit the school anyway. I don't know if he ended up doing so. If he did, it the appears that the media is ignoring him - so far anyway.

UPDATE: Turns out Trump got the message to stay away and did not attempt visit the school where the shootings took place. He decided to visit wounded survivors in one of the hospitals instead. He made a fool of himself, as usual, by giving a grinning thumbs up sign to a group of mourning citizens and first responders. He then headed back up to Mar a Logo for a disco party. He spends so much time down here playing golf and "working relaxing" down here it's a joke. Palm Beach County is suing him for expenses.

Meanwhile, the NRA has had the good sense to keep a low profile on the shooting. Trump has already carried their water for them with his comments blaming 'mental health issues' for the tragedy and was roundly panned.

Trump's governance by tweet is coming back to bite him on this one. Some of the survivors down here have responded to his asinine tweets with facts and harsh language, and the media is paying attention this time. In case folks didn't catch this particular example of a response to Trump on TV:
Sarah on Twitter wrote: I don't want your condolences you damned piece of crap, my friends and teachers were shot. Multiple of my fellow classmates are dead. Do something instead of sending prayers. Prayers won't fix this. But gun control will prevent it from happening again.

Another example of the impact outside of Florida is the many High School dance teams and female school sports teams across the country, and even in Europe, that have picked up on "This One's For Jaimie". They are wearing orange ribbons and bracelets at their performances to honor one of the victims who was known for her skill and enthusiasm on the dance team here.

Meanwhile, my wife and another ward member were up all night baking and preparing food for the funeral. Attendance is anticipated to be substantial.

My heartfelt condolences.

I am so glad that I am no longer mired in the obligatory partisan shilling of the extreme right, I think I am a little bit less of an jerk, now.

My niece is joining many other American high-schoolers in planning a walk-out in April, to demand that Congress do more to protect American schoolchildren. It sounds like a good idea.

Thank you. And your niece and her friends have a great idea, especially if the kids can convince their voting age relatives to support them.

Poll after poll shows that a clear majority of Americans are in favor of some type of improved gun control. Many Republican candidates, however, will often not take a stand in favor of more sane legislation because they are afraid of being 'primaried out' by the radical right. That may be changing.

Many down here think the tide may be turning. Even the Florida Republican Senator is now indicating that he would be open to gun control legislation, although he won't be specific.

Meanwhile, like many others here, I have written both of our senators regarding this issue and reminding the Republican that his multi-million dollar contributions from the NRA are being duly noted by voters.

Here's Trump giving less than two crap s what anyone thinks about him, the shooting, and how he represents the Office of President to the world:

That was him chilling at his party at his resort on the taxpayer's dime.
