When people talk about the need to connect people like this to mental health resources, that does mean paying people like me to exist.

Mostly agree. From his Twitter history he promoted 911 truth and has a lot of anti Bush stuff too. Along with chemtrail conspiracies. He was a misfit and taken in by these internet subcultures.

Taken in by "these internet subcultures"? In this case, I'd say he was taken in by Trump's divisive violence promoting rhetoric.

But don't go by me.

And Florida doesn't automatically restore voting rights to convicted felons. So how was Cesar a registered Republican?

I don't see how him being a registered Republican or not makes any difference. What do you think about it?

Oh I have no doubt this guy has serious issues. IQ wise and probably mentally too. But Trump and his rhetoric attracts this kind of people. I could totally see LDSFAQS in the news over a botched terrorist plot. And I could totally see him living in a van like this guy has.

I'm reading comments sections on various sites and it's all pretty unfortunate. Sigh.

Here's a bit from a lawyer interviewed on CNN who defended the guy in the past.

“He never seemed sophisticated enough to do something like he’s accused of. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that there were either others who helped prod and encourage him to do this, or that the bombs in fact were so crudely made, they never could have worked. Because he didn’t seem to have the intellectual capacity to plane a conspiracy like this, in my opinion.”

I don't think it was sophisticated in any way. But, for what it's worth.

From the 4chan thread:

Lol... I don't know what to say. People want to believe in mysterious forces at work. Hell, I was leaning towards an unhinged Liberal version of Cesar Sayoc doing this to bring bad press on Trump. Whatever the case may be, this is proof positive that rhetoric does, in fact, inspire people to do awful things. We see this across the political spectrum.

Don't bet on Trump being introspective, though. Ain't gonna happen.

I'm pretty sure Alex Jones predates 2016, but don't go by me. I saw a movie some years ago that genuinely disturbed me. Might have mentioned it around here before. Rampage, I think from around 2009. It's like leftist anarchy porn. This vigilante goes around killing people and ultimately ends up at a local news station. I think they made a sequel. Doesn't V for vendetta have a similar theme? Shooter with Mark Wahlberg. What's that other one with Gerard Butler? Or that other one, White House Down? The list is endless. Trump didn't create media culture, but he is skilled at leveraging it.

Yep. 4chan. It’s kind of a passionate hobby of many there to both gin up crazy conspiracy stories and make memes designed to elevate the loony rhetoric of the Trump crowd. This is where much of Dog’s crap originates.

Like Russian election hackers. Conservative crazy is dismissed. The left wing crazy wins FISA requests and runs on CNN 24/7. I have to wonder too, is this even real? Not that it matters. Half of pol is pure trollbait just to see what conspiracy they can make viral.
