I know this will certainly just be guess work but, I'd be interested in knowing the actual numbers/percentages of Americans who think Trump is not an idiot.
Starting with his job approval poll numbers of around 40%, then subtracting from that percentage those who do think he's an idiot, but supported him because they hated Hillary more. Subtracting those just toeing the party line. Subtracting those who like some of his policies. Subtracting people like Kanye, whose hidden agenda is unknowable. What are we left with? I'd like to think the number is down around 20% of Americans who actually think Trump is not a complete buffoon but, I wouldn't put any money on it.

I mean, isn't the Helsinki nonsense alone enough to convince someone Trump is not all there? Viewing the event in full context, for him to think he can convince the world he really meant to say "wouldn't" instead of "would" is Dunning-Kruger defined.
Come on Water Dog, Subs, you guys may support him for your own reasons, of which are not my concern, but you don't actually believe he's not an idiot, right?

I don't think he's an idiot.
Ask me if I think he's dangerous.

Yeah, idiot may be the wrong description. It's just my favorite go-to word. Schmuck then?

You could always elevate the term idiot to words sounding more medical, like malignant narcissist and sociopath.

I don't think he is an idiot. I don't think he is that smart either. He's a creature of the media and ratings and will say anything to have people talking about him for branding purposes. I think that was why he had his fight with Rosey O'Donnell a while back. He needed attention for his branding. It was kinda funny too.

Well, I seem to be having trouble getting 'idiot' past the crew here, let alone malignant, narcissistic, sociopath. But, it does have a nice ring to it.

I'm guessing both nature and nurture were not kind to his inner Donald.
