Does he write her permission slips or something?

The survey, conducted among 680 registered voters who identified themselves as Democrats or independents, found that "none of the above" was the most popular choice among potential 2020 challengers to President Trump.

Thirty percent of the sample said they would prefer that "none of the above" become the Democratic nominee when asked to choose among former Vice President Joe Biden, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D), Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders (I), New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker (D), California Sen. Kamala Harris (D), former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

I'd prefer to see a candidate pulled from the governors and senator pool who was a veteran. Being commander in chief having commanded and executed orders, having negotiated with a legislature and/or worked with and formed ties with members of the US Congress are skills we've stopped seeking in our chief executive to the detriment of the office.

No more celebrities. Michelle may be a great woman, but she's not qualified.

+1000 I don't think we want to keep running with the precedent of barely qualified candidates that Trump has laid the ground work for. There are plenty of highly qualified people out there with the chops for the job, let them take a run at it.

If Michelle truly wants to hold office I'd think a more standard approach would be in order. Let her run for smaller, local seats and then segue that into higher office. I suspect she would have a larger impact doing what she is doing now though, working to support the party as a whole, rather then focusing her attention on one seat.

"qualified" is something Democrats aren't concerned about with their candidates...just check the recent headlines where Democrats are touted for being "of color", "woman", "youngest", "gay"...there is no concern among Democrats for any of the characteristics you are promoting as "qualifications".

She isn't interested, but it would be nice if she got interested. She's a sure thing to blow Trump out of the water.

The perception of her when she was First Lady was that she wasn't overly thrilled with White House life. If that was true, I would be surprised to see her considering it when there are so many other people who want it so much more.

But it would be a very interesting race for sure.

According to her book, she has no plans to run for any political office. So there's that.

From the Adams, Kennedy, Bush, Clinton and Obama families, we love a known quantity. Sometimes we like a reprise (think Grover Cleveland). But I think it of it as sign of trouble. Again, we are bypassing real experience in governance. I want someone who has gone through the ranks, who has held office. Our country needs people who are experienced, not just in the art of politics, but of actually governing.
