Interesting how this turned into a whole thread. I was just curious why the other content got moderated. As for the subject, Acosta wants to make it all about him as always. The video wasn't faked, lefty conspiracies. He did touch her. Does it warrant assault charges? No. Does he deserve to get kicked out of the White House? Of course. In truth he ironically handed Trump a gift because now we're talking about Acosta instead of other things. And I'm pretty sure Trump said fake news is the enemy of the people, not freedom of the press or anything like that. An opinion I'm having a hard time disagreeing with. At any rate, give me a call when he actually does something to infringe the rights of the press as enumerated in the constitution. Those people deserve push back. Why should they get special treatment? Frankly I wish he'd sue a couple outlets. These outlets who publish things which are materially false should be held accountable, in my opinion. NBC apparently knowingly lied about Kavanaugh accusers for example. They had discrediting information that they buried. On purpose. Most people are pretty tired of these biased nightcrawlers.

So, if schooling and career success aren't good enough then what's the standard given your requirement quoted above?

Again, i think you are confusing professional qualities with professional qualifications.
Clearly my condemnation is founded on his professional behavior over the past +12 months. And not upon his undergraduate report card. Nevertheless, getting a job at a tv news network doesn't equal "professional quality" does it?
So save us the sophomoric appeals to authority and try to distinguish between Acosta's behavior during a White House press conference and the professional qualities found in competent journalists.
For example, 3 "professjonal qualities" that you failed to wiki-cite are:

1. Not becoming the story
2. Asking questions and reporting answers
3. Honesty

So, the answer is clearly nothing. There are no "professional qualities that can be reasonably defended by anyone on this board" that Acosta could possess. I'll just leave this here because communicating with you is an exercise in pointlessness:

I just cannot state strongly enough how totally dishonest much of the Media is. Truth doesn’t matter to them, they only have their hatred & agenda. This includes fake books, which come out about me all the time, always anonymous sources, and are pure fiction. Enemy of the People!

He's nearly thrown a blanket over the entire media but he stops short with "much of the Media". His focus is once again on "me". Totally self serving.

What bothers me is that his base will not fact check the many lies that he tells on a daily basis. What is it, like several thousands per month average? They'll take what he says like folks sitting in church who often passively receive a sermon, nod their heads, walk out the door with a smile on their face, and see ya next Sunday.
