Holding the press accountable and criticizing them for their blatant bias in; commodification of; and creativity with news and facts is not a serious problem...people insisting that the press is a sacred cow is the serious problem.

Whatever this judge rules for the Acosta press pass, Trump wins. If the judge rules for CNN then FOX gets to ride those coattails right into the next Democratic Administration. And if the judge rules against CNN then Trump wins a moral victory over the pretentious tantrum prone narcissists that call themselves reporters (ya know Acosta went to journalism college and is camera friendly).

Honestly, how often do you think Acosta will get the mic if his pass is reinstated ?

Or, Trump loses either way. If he win, the democratic administration gets to ban Fox. If he loses, he had to put up with Acosta.

Romney is just on his usual TBM schtick. Just another affect of the ongoing civil war between Evangelicals and Mormons in the GOP... which the Mormons are losing. No different than any other assertion of authority like we see from Q15. The one thing they absolutely will never do is apologize or admit they got something wrong. And by damn, if they have to set it all on fire to prove that they were right that's what they'll do.

Judge grants CNN’s motion for TRO, orders White House to give Acosta’s pass back. Limited ruling based on due process.

For the White House, apparently.

Oh gee, what do you know. Donald Trump acts against the Constitution once again. Judge orders the White House to give him back his pass.

I’m pretty impressed with the decision. The judge is one of Trump’s appointed judges. He did what judges are supposed to do in Constitutional jurisprudence: avoid substantively interpreting the Constitution if there is another basis for ruling. Rather than trying to figure out how the 1st amendment applies, he noted that the process was arbitrary and didn’t pass muster under well-established 5th amendment law. The White House can adopt a set of decorum rules and procedures for enforcement that aren’t arbitrary. Acosta gets the pass back. And both sides have incentive to work the issue out.

It’s a pretty good example of how conservative jurisprudence should work.

As stated before, this is still a political win for Trump. Acosta has consistently been the single most effective "change the subject" that any President could ever hope for.

Lol. 24 hours ago you were proclaiming what you believed would be an imminent failure for CNN's challenge, i.e., bad news for that station is what you predicted. Yet CNN prevailed, and now you're forced to try to claim a victory for the White House.

While watching a washed-up reality TV star try to play a tough guy 'president' via numerous misfires might make some folks chuckle, no one is praising Trump's ability to shoot himself in the foot here. As well, you've just exposed your earlier claims of Acosta 'making himself the story' as your usual BS, by now shifting to the POV that Trump purposefully makes Acosta the story. You should try harder to track your own flip flops if you want to try to play that game.

There will always be a "change the subject" for this President. This particular one ended up being a highly visible demonstration of his failure, his pathetic immaturity, and the dishonesty of his White House.
