NBC is reporting that the person referenced as a Trump campaign member in the Cohen plea and sentencing is Donald Trump himself:

Remember when President Trump had an extramarital affair with an adult film actress following the birth of his youngest son? Which led to:

Remember when President Trump paid off the women he had affairs with during the Presidential campaign? Which led to:

Remember when President Trump's personal attorney Michael Cohen plead guilty to violating finance campaign laws and testified that he did so under the direction of the President? Which led to:

Apologies in advance. I didn't know where else to put this. I just read he's now considering Kushner for CoS?

Is that not yet another violation of some kind?

So, there is an anti-nepotism law that would prohibit Trump from appointing Kushner as head of an agency. But a later law says that the anti-nepotism law does not apply to White House staff. Chief of staff would likely be considered a White House position.

Remember when the Trump administration ended a requirement that some nonprofit organizations have to disclose the names of large donors to the IRS? This allowed some political groups to shield their sources of funding from government scrutiny. Which organization in particular did they hope to shield? Why the NRA, silly!

What brought this about? Why Butina being outed, silly! Once the Butina thing came to light the Republicans passed a rule that hides that fact they received Russian money funneled through the NRA from the American public.

The GOP is compromised. Any patriots on this forum that vote Republican care to explain how this is ok?

At least this has just been somewhat rectified. Interesting timing.

If Kushner is appointed Chief of Staff bring back Eva Braun and Blondi, because Trump is starting the dig the bunker. It's both incredibly sad and incredibly revealing that his talent pool is down to his immediate family. At the beginning of his term Trump could get someone like Reince Priebus, relative GOP mainstreamer, to run the White House. Now Rick Santorum has turned him down.

What is the upside of working for Donald Trump? Are you going to bring order to the West Wing? Will the President stop tweeting, stay on message and tell the truth? And what do you have to look forward to after you inevitably fail? The risk/reward ratio is not favorable.

My first instinct of news reports of Kushner being floated as a possible Chief of Staff is that this is being intentionally leaked to make the actual nominee look less bad by comparison.

(Spoiler: It will be bad.)
