Woodstock was August 15, 1969. The album Crosby Stills & Nash was released in May of '69, meaning it was probably recorded and mixed at the end of 1968 and early '69. But they were an established group as Crosby, Stills & Nash when they asked Young to join.

I saw CSN&Y in at Oracle arena in Berkeley in 2000. (Check out the set list.) Young didn't seem fully integrated into the group. I remember he sang "After The Goldrush", accompanied only by his keyboard He changed the lyrics to Look at Mother Nature on the run in the 21st Century, and it gave me chills. I'm always amazed how pure and strong Neil Young's voice remained as he got older.

Off on a Neil Young tangent, but an album that was a Canadian import was Live at Massey Hall. I had a scratchy album that I got in a trade from a guy who didn't like it that much. Great acoustic early Neil Young, with decent remastering and a nice set list. Worth a listen.

More Neil Young trivia...one of my favorite groups of all time is the Guess Who...the Best of the Guess Who Album was one of the 8 Tracks of choice in my Rambler. But anyways Randy Bachman ( and his brothers), Fred Turner, Burton Cummings, and Neil Young were all from Winnipeg and knew each other. They had separate groups in school, but Neil was the big act according to Bachman.

I listened to this a couple of weeks ago, pretty cool stories.

What is crazy, to me anyways, The Guess Who have been snubbed by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Just a part of their playlist of hits

The song in the OP was written about Judy Collins.

Hold the phone. . . "Judy Collins" is a real person and not a fictional construct?

I didn't realize this. That's shocking to me.

I always loved Undun, it had a cool jazz feel...have the Greatest Hits CD...

So, a Rambler AND an 8-track? Livin' large!

Cleveland won't let them into the Hall of Fame until they apologize for writing the blasphemous American Woman ;-)

It was a really cool car, it was wider than it was long, so it seemed.
