Neither do I, but there are a TON of really cool solutions to surveille the border from a satellite to drones to cameras to ground sensors to people. I'm also a fan of a pathway to citizenship which includes ID'ing immigrants, giving them tax numbers, and then after around five years offering them citizenship if they're gainfully employed, net contributors to the system, staying out of trouble, and willing to take the Naturalization Oath of Allegiance. Why not?

How can you deport anyone when you can't stop them from entering the country illegally in the first place? All you're doing is providing a free vacation home for a few weeks. It actually kind of scares me that we deport dangerous criminals in lieu of incarceration given the border has been purposely left porous.

Most welfare recipients amongst illegals are the children of unwed mother illegal immingrants not working age men. I seriously doubt Doc wants to limit the number of unwed mothers entering the country illegally to live off the tax dollars of working American men and women.

You're point is noted. But how many enter illegally who are not appreheded? The illegal immigrant who killed Kate Steinle was deported multiple times.

One of the weird things about the “open borders” rhetoric Ajax is imbibing in is literally no other area of law do you see people pointing to the existence of lawbreakers as proof no law exists at all. Like, people aren’t saying we live in a speed limit free society. And the Venn diagram between people who do that and argue that gun laws are a bad idea because criminals won’t listen to them is pretty tight.
