Yeah, keep thinking the independents who voted Trump on a dare and third party voters who got him elected in any way support your stupidity. It will make 2020 even more laughable.

Most Americans don't share your objective of making the US another Venezuela. You're in the minority on that.

Even with all the mass and illegal immigration over the past 50 years almost exclusively from Latin America, the majority of people in the US want us to start enforcing our borders again.
And when the confederates saw Jackson standing fearless as a stone wall the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

So you want us to enforce our borders the way we did in 1969?

The Daily Caller decided to post fake revenge porn of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez because they are healthy people. She is the right wing media's new Clinton / Emmanuel Goldstein at least for the time being.

I wrote this in response to a discussion about some conservatives trying to craft an attack out of her, um, dancing in college. It was a reply to the idea that this is because they're desperately attracted to her and this is how it manifests itself.

"I think the coverage in right-wing media she gets is a snowball effect from her fulfilling this role as a dopey, naïve socialist. The coverage of her reminds me a lot of how Clinton was (and still is) treated in the same media where the coverage drives itself irrespective of what the real person has said or done. They're arguing with a stereotype that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez ballparked enough in the initial coverage for them to feel like they actually got one this time. Their image of her gets distorted and confused with strawmen they've been arguing with.

Psychoanalyzing prurient motives or assuming there's some clever propaganda blitz is too kind, because what's really going on is dumber than that. That she makes 'em crazy in the pants exists on top of this. Maxine Waters is the racists' favorite boogiewoman in government for similar reasons and it's not because they find her attractive.

A cousin to this phenomenon is when a major liberal figure is caught actually doing something that right-wing media is constantly manufacturing in bad faith. They lose their damned minds over that because when your default is fake outrage and you encounter an actual justified example of it, you've got nowhere else to go."

Someone with similar politics to mine replies that she is a dopey naïve, socialist.

I reply:

"Sorta. I don't think she's a socialist so much as a new deal liberal and a lot of young new deal liberals call themselves socialists now. Have you paid attention to how she's discussed in right wing media, though?

Her faults are exaggerated, misread, made up, and mixed in with generic stereotypes of socialists. It's so similar to Hillary Clinton it's eerie. Not in that they're attacked for the same things, but that she's an avatar for faults they see in liberals/Democrats to the point that the coverage feeds on itself.

So kinda like how we have say that while Clinton is a dishonest politician, she isn't dishonest like right-wing media portrays her, I feel we're trapped into doing the same with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's economic naïveté. And while every politician deserves scrutiny of their policy assertions, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez takes way more flak in comparison to her peers when she missteps."

"Hillary Clinton was covered in right-wing media as unbelievably corrupt. As bad as or worse than Donald Trump actually is. And a lot of this coverage was based on ginned up pseudo-scandals, conspiracy theories, and lies. It's not that Clinton wasn't sleazy in her political dealings at times, but that the right wing version of this was a fun-house mirror image of it. Her real, more normal, more nuanced corruption was merely the launching pad to create a much worse fictional version.

The thing is, anytime Clinton gave a whiff of legitimate corruption in a story, the mainstream press hammered it home like it was the end of the world. That's how they prove how fair and not liberally biased they are. It's what they think gives them the credibility to dismiss all the nonsense. If they can collect Clinton's scalp, that proves they're good journalists.

You already see this with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. There's a right-wing media version of her where her dopey, economically ignorant, crazed, pinko views already exist in a fantasy version. What led to that has a grain of truth, but that doesn't change the fact that the right-wing media creation is a fiction. It already has created an atmosphere of heightened scrutiny for her where the mainstream media is willing to pounce on actual examples that conform to that stereotype. And so she receives more coverage for being an idiot than many of the other Congressional reps saying abominably stupid things on an almost daily basis."

I'm just importing those thoughts here, but I think what I'm arguing is getting more and more obvious.

I'm pretty impressed a 20-something got herself elected to Congress. That's fuckin' amazeballs. I don't see why she's threatening to anyone, though. Nothing like a tour or two through Congress to teach an idealist just how demoralizing representative democracy can be.

i don't think the attention she is being given is because she's threatening, but rather because she is such an easy target; so non-threatening; and she epitomizes the current conundrum which sits firmly on the lap of the DNC.
She is tantamount to a Sarah Palin, and you can't ignore that type of comedy gold...unless you're a thoroughly entrenched libtard, then you can just hold the party line because honest self examination is like funding the wall or admitting that your life is all but unaffected by the mean tweeting guy.

Did this make sense in your brain?

You guys talked about it more than any conservatives...you got suckered.
If I didn't know any better, I'd think you were just reading all the stories that claim conservatives mocking Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was a fiction invented by the nefarious liberal media. But you wouldn't just parrot what right-wing media tells you, right?

So if I were to post an example of conservatives mocking her for this, you'd totally recant, acknowledge that you suck, and move on, correct?

Mark Steyn admitted that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was threatening. She does seem to be helping radicalize the Democrat party, which i didn't think seemed possible.
