You're confusing Buzzfeed the viral video division with Buzzfeed News, the news organization with a bunch of Pulitzer nominations.

Buzzfeed hasn't retracted. They've doubled down on asserting that their sources are reliable, but the wise thing to do given the Mueller spox's statement is to withhold judgement.

Cohen is cancelling his upcoming testimony before Congress. He's citing on-going threats to his family. Whether that is a rhetorical move or not, I don't know, but it's undoubtedly the case that the president has been encouraging threats against his family and it seems like that would've resulted in an overnight impeachment as recently as a decade ago.

You just reiterated your point. You are citing a news article about one of Buzzfeed's listomania style pieces. This is from a completely different group of people with a completely different set of credentials and standards. Buzzfeed and Buzzfeed News are distinct things. Buzzfeed does quizzes to find out what kind of doughnut you are. Buzzfeed News does some of the best journalism in the country. I'm sure Buzzfeed News also hasn't gotten every single thing they've reported accurate 100% of the time, and it would be strange for that to be your standard of journalistic excellence.

I doubt it. If you look at the Mediabiaschart (which is about right) BuzzfeedNews falls under "selective or Incomplate Story; Unfair persuasion". Buzzfeed News and the new york post are almost in the same category.

I doubt it.

You shouldn't. Buzzfeed used their filthy Internet wealth to fund a powerhouse journalism front. They're very well decorated and a lot of the reporting you can read for yourself is top notch. They've been nominated for several Pulitzers in their short existence. I believe they won for International reporting this past year.

That chart is terrible. I still love that Jacobin, a Marxist magazine, is to the right of New Republic, a neo-liberal to moderate magazine. It's listed to the right of the Daily Beast, which is hilarious. The whole right-wing media-verse is upshifted. It has slightly more thought put into than just using a dart board.
