Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: “I Have A Degree” but just no education!!!
How the hell do you spend tax credits????
https://www.google.com/amp/s/nypost.com ... -deal/amp/
This idiot lady is an absolute embarrassment to the real world. I would love to claim a depreciation expense for a building I never built!!
Pehaps some here don’t understand why her claim was so stupid, but it was incredibly telling what the new LEFT is attracting.
It would actually be comical if she hadn’t been the number one cause of why 25,000 jobs were just taken away from NY. And it proved she doesn’t even understand “Her” socialism!! Why did she complain about Amazon’s tax credits in the first place? She wants jobs for those who don’t work. Who pays for those jobs? I’ll let the bright minds here figure out her hypocrisy!!!

On another note, it's fun to see the conservative position devolve into supporting corporate rent-seeking by mega-businesses through using leverage over the government to give them massive competitive advantages. Negative partisanship breaks people's brains.

EA, trying to go easy on your keyboard/screen expertise and knowledge here but—— how would you and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (recognizing you are probably brighter than she is) go about creating the 25,000 jobs that just left? And what do you believe, with your IPhone PHD should be the appropriate tax structure to attract those jobs from any entity willing to put non-taxpayer investment at risk?
I’m waiting with, and hoping for, a great knowledge!?!?

Free market capitalism - That's when the government gives selective economic advantages to favored businesses with political clout who in turn promise to provide workers with employment.

No! That’s when communities that can’t find tax dollars nor the ability to create jobs, look to those willing to invest their capital up front, without any guarantee of return, that their ability to manage capital in a community will be selected over the governments (and communities) ability to provide a greater return of taxpayer’s money.
Have you ever managed non taxpayer investment in anything you’ve done in your entire life?!?!?

It truly amazes me the extent to which the Right Wing fear-mongering machine will go to demonize a young brown woman they feel so threatened by. If it wasn't for their weird obsession with her she would probably just fly under everyone's radar as so many other freshmen Congressmen/Congresswomen do. Are they threatened by the fact that she has an education or just the fact that she is standing up to special interest groups and taking bold initiatives? You know, the kinda thing Trump campaigned on but failed to do.
Referring to tax credits as money that could be spent elsewhere has been common lingo in politics for as long as I can remember. It is very much the same way bach just referred to New York having "25,000 jobs taken away" when those jobs never existed to begin with.
Bach seems oblivious to the many ways in which big corporations shake down cities for huge tax benefits with false promises of producing benefits that outweigh those costs to the city. We've seen this many times especially with the example of Walmarts across the country where there are dozens of abandoned facilities these cities no longer have any use for because Walmart reneged on their promises and then built new facilities just down the road across city lines so the city that gave them billions in subsidies would never reap the benefits of all those revenues. Walmart has effectively turned small towns with aspirations of prosperity, into little more than shanty towns. Bach also doesn't seem to understand that the relationship between Seattle and Amazon has been a contentious one and many feel like Seattle is worse off because of it. Amazon has contributed to their housing crisis for example.
He also doesn't seem to understand that just because a facility is built in Town X, this doesn't mean everyone hired there will live in that same town. Many people will commute from other cities, even states, and so all those tax revenues won't necessarily benefit New York as he assumes. We know this from America's long love-hate relationship with big Corporations seeking subsidies and tax breaks in exchange for presumed tax revenues that rarely ever pan out the way they thought.
In other words, Democrat politicians knew Amazon was up to no good and Amazon knew that they knew it, so they just took their ball and left. Instead, they'll now consider Right Wing states Virginia and Tennessee, where pulling one over on the working people will be far easier. Those local politicians are likely to be just as ignorant and fawning over corporate America as bach is.

We know this from America's long love-hate relationship with big Corporations seeking subsidies and tax breaks in exchange for presumed tax revenues that rarely ever pan out the way they thought.
But critics— including many Democrats — lambasted the massive subsidies that New York offered to lure Amazon, including $1.525 billion in incentives that were contingent on the company creating 25,000 new jobs with an average salary of $150,000.
On Sunday, de Blasio, a Democrat, said New York offered Amazon a "fair deal," and blamed the company for making what he called an "arbitrary" decision to leave after some people objected.
"They said they wanted a partnership, but the minute there were criticisms, they walked away," he added. "What does that say to working people that a company would leave them high and dry simply because some people raised criticisms?"
Amazon did not immediately respond to a request for comment about de Blasio's latest remarks. But the company last week criticized "a number of state and local politicians" who it said "have made it clear that they oppose our presence and will not work with us to build the type of relationships that are required" to complete the project.

Not sure how many pundits talking about Amazon even read the deal or where it was going.
$500+ million of the deal was *capital grants.*
$2.5 billion in tax breaks.
It’s fair to ask why we don’t invest the capital for public use, + why we don’t give working people a tax break. - https://Twitter.com/Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez/status/1098000445912559619
Folks handling the failed deal treated community w/condescension+disdain for their legitimate concerns.
I warned early to any & all that surging NYC costs+failing subways are creating major political forces to be reckoned with.
But I don’t know what I’m talking about, right? - https://Twitter.com/Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez/status/1098013818909790209
There was little in the fuzzy proposal that guaranteed jobs for actual NYers, yet lots of hard concessions from the public.
Queens saw how the FoxConn/Wisconsin disaster is working out - a $4.5 billion nightmare - & asked Qs.
The response? “This is above you, you won’t get it.” - https://Twitter.com/Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez/status/1098008417015418881

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez isn't terribly bright, but the right wing really has no standing to complain about the intelligence of other people.

I wonder how you came to this conclusion.
Could you help me by giving me a couple of examples of republicans of a comparable age and either gender that you would classify as 'not terribly bright'?
