Hell, I went to a school that didn't allow black kids until around 1990. And then when we moved to Atlanta in 1987, the school had probably 180 black kids out of 3,500. I can think of at least three beat downs of black kids that happened right off the top of my head. No big deal. Unless a black kid assaults a white kid or worse, a white female, then it becomes the outrage of the month. This is what drove Trump to condemn black teens raping a white woman even though they were innocent. The mere thought of this happening to a white woman was enough to drive him into such a rage that he'd pay for a full page NYT AD calling for their execution.
Even today it is pretty sad. A mom in our neighborhood posted a text exchange she got off her son's phone. She is white, her husband is black and obviously the kids are mixed. Some bigot kid was calling her son Tyson the N word in such a "no big deal" kinda way it was shocking. The exchange went something like this.
Bigot: yeah, I think you're a N****R.
Tyson: OK
Bigot: I guess that makes me an asshole huh.
Tyson: yeah
Bigot: I just don't like N****Relief Society, that is how I was raised. But you seem pretty cool I guess.
Tyson: OK
