You're all right. Here's what I recommend before you worry about a mate:

1) Become independent, whatever that entails for you, in that you can support yourself, in your own place, with your own stuff, and with a steady paycheck due to a career or vocation that has upward mobility.

2) Get a plant or two. Raise and tend them for a year or two. If they flourish due to your interest, care, and curiosity about them then you...

3) Get a pet. Same as before, learn how to take an interest in the pet, be engaged with it, care for it, and craft a relationship with it. Do this for a while. If the pet flourishes then you...

What makes you think that? I am not a guy that plays with women. There is nothing wrong for me to want to date an attractive girl, but I am not saying that attraction is all that matters. I also want to find a nice girl that can be in a happy relationship with me.

You don't have to believe in "soul mates" to think that lasting romantic partnerships are fulfilling.

We need to be mature. Statistics don't support the idea of a soul mate. We cannot be sure that we will continue to love someone for the rest of our lives. However, I do want to be in a happy romantic relationship.

It's the result of how you reduce prospective partners into what they can give you in terms of body or wealth.

If I ever date a wealthy older woman it obviously wouldn't be a serious relationship and she would know. I am simply a human being that wants to try out many things in life. As Richard Dawkins said, "Make the most of the one life you've got. Live it to the full". I do not want to have any regrets when I am old and ugly.
