First of all ajax, when trying to establish the legitimacy of a totally unproven entity, use capital letters. It gives a patina of legitimacy to the monikers. 'Deep State' looks more like an established fact than 'deep state'. So yeah, the Deep State. Deep State has not been terribly successful, have they? Not terribly clever of Obama not to release the information about Russian interference before the election, huh?

And if the Mueller Report is the total exoneration claimed by the President, I guess the Deep State is not very powerful, is it? Bob Mueller was pretty much the Special Counsel's Satan, with his minions of corrupt Democrats, right? So why is that President so happy with their report if it is all the product of the Deep State?

Trump talks about the Deep State when referring to investigations about himself. He talks about the courageous men and women of the Department of Justice when referring to a Clinton investigation.

"The Deep State" referred to the executive bureaucracy in partner with powerful business interests having a semi-permanent influence in the functioning of the government with the capacity to pursue its own interests irrespective of party in power.

"The Deep State" is largely comprised of Republicans in significant disproportion to their numbers in the general population. The security bureaucracy is overwhelmingly conservative. So are the leaders of large businesses.

Ajax wants his kids to grow up with PTSD, undernourished, and having missed the advantages that come from going to school in an affluent, peaceful country. It builds character and makes sure they value the traditions their pa shed his blood for I guess.

You can sort of see the conspiracy theory Ajax has put together through a haze of Hannity segments and Brietbart articles. It's already incoherent there, but he's added his own layer of incoherence on top of it. The idea there is that the civil service is filled with Obama loyalists looking to frame Donald Trump and other, good, honest Republicans like him in order to oust them and subvert democracy. This never made even the slightest sense when you look at how the conspiracy is supposed to function, but it's a way of hand-waving away all the evidence of corruption and other forms of misconduct in the Trump admin while also making an argument to purge civil service careerists to fill it with loyalists who would subvert the law for Republican interests.

But in the hands of Ajax, you've got him claiming that Obama cabinet members in the Trump admin are criminalizing center-right political expression. That's so nutty all you can do is go "wtf?" which has the effect of making him cross his arms and think, "Can't even answer it, can you?"

Could be that Ajax was just polishing his future submittals to The Onion, but maybe not, and maybe he can tell me more about people being criminally charged and detained for having opinions or wearing MAGA hats.

That, and I'm super-interested in hearing the reasons why the New Confederate States will declare war on the rest of us, and what activities befitting the banners of morality and justice they'll deploy to achieve their goals.

The mainstream media was working right along with the deep state in their effort to undo the election of 2016. If you consider Comey a conservative Republican than EAllusion makes a fair point that many in the deep state who wanted to undo the 2016 election were establishment Republicans who were every bit as much a part of the swamp as Democrats.

Oh there's plenty. Look at what Mueller did to Roger Stone and even Michal Flynn in his attempt to take down Trump. Look at what the IRS did to people who were associated with the Tea Party! Look at what the mainstream media attempted to do to Nick Sandmann. They wanted to make him unemployable and ostracized for wearing a MAGA hat and standing his ground with an aggressive and crazy Indian. Then there is the scarlet letter of white supremacism they try to apply to anyone who wants to see the border enforced and our tax dollars protected. If you want to enforce the border, then you're a racist and a white supremacist. If you don't want European socialism, open borders, higher taxes, less take home pay, and banana republic level standard of living, you're a racist and white supremacist.

The divide between left and right really is deeper than the divide between American/Russian or American/Latin American, or American/Chinese. In many cases we share more loyalty to foreigners than we do fellow American citizens. Most Americans will never meet a worse enemy than their own government.
