The last global pandemic of this scale came on the heels of a global war - an industrial war that ate men and turned them into rotting corpses by the thousands. Every day for four years.

One thing missing from your list almost every generation of humans would have feared that you don't? And many people today still do? Starvation. One of the four things on your list is caused by having an overabundance of processed foods in fact.

I get it. There are things that seem insurmountable, terrifying even. But every generation has faced their own challenges, most of which were pretty damn rough at that, and faced them down despite being scared. There are far too many reasons to be positive than negative. Buck up.

Very true, but past generations didn't have statistical trends.

The primary reason charlatans keep making a living predicting people's futures is by being accidentally right every once in a while. For some reason, people ignore all the times they're wrong.

The experts predicted the pandemic, but no one was talking about it and it never dominated the headlines.
