Re: Trump will lose in November, but
Trump is actively, and with at least some success, attempting to manipulate democratic outcomes in a variety of ways and was, in fact, impeached for an example of this. You don't need to have "vote rigging" to have illegitimate elections. This is happening on a number of fronts, but the most obvious example is the rabid opposition to vote by mail backed by propagandistic lies about voter fraud. This is a direct attempt to prevent Democrats (on average relative to Republicans) from voting in pandemic conditions. Whether it works or not, or even is a sound strategy, is a separate question from whether the intent is to "win" and election with it.
I live in a state that had a fairly overt attempt to subvert an election by Republicans in favor of Republicans just recenly*. They didn't change any votes or hack machines. They just tried to make it much harder for Democrats to vote. It didn't work, so it's been forgotten about in the rapid pace of very bad news, but that wasn't a free and fair election and if the Republican preferred candidate won, it'd be hard to see that as an authentic expression of democratic will. There's a point where there's enough suppression of democracy that you just gotta call the process a sham.
[i]*On a personal note, I got to vote, but my partner didn't. She ordered her absentee ballot 3 weeks in advance. [/i]

Yep, I agree.honorentheos wrote: ↑Mon Jun 01, 2020 2:21 pmFrom a more serious take, we have had the worst pandemic since the late 1910s, worst economic conditions since the 1930s, worse riots and increased racial tensions since the 1960s...all in one year. I think Trump supporters view it as bad luck that Democrats are exploiting. Others maybe see it as karma. But to me it says having a grossly unqualified person in the White House had consequences. He was impeached for good reason. The pandemic might not be in anyone's control, but the response and ability to unify the country to fight it is. The race baiting and provoking violence in response to shore up support among scared suburban white female voters? Abysmal and dangerously narrow political thinking by a guy who ride being a divider and instigator into the White House. The economy was being artificially overheated to protect stock market gains at the expense of long term economic health. Tax cuts, ballooning debt, trade wars...this isn't an accident.
Memes have their place. I'm just not interested in seeing them take the place of discourse. It's like eating a diet of ranch dressing because they work well when included in a salad so it's even better to omit the salad.

I just noticed this.
True, you linked a meme originally linked by moksha. It's not really that relevant, since you appear to agree with the message.
You should be aware that your posts look different than everyone else's, in that when you quote someone, it shows up as non-formatted tags. Your posts are more difficult to interpret than most people's because of that.
At least, that's what's happening in my browsers.

Weird. I do. I have continued functionality issues, but everything looks normal to me.
Re: The meme, it's not my style and I don't like how it attributes all the havoc to Trump while skipping over nuance in partial responsibility. The general idea of it - that Trump has significant responsibility in ongoing tragedy of historical proportions, is accurate. These things normally lead to landslide defeats. Knowing how bad things have gotten, specifically because of Trump's failures no less and before taking into account Trump's assault on liberal democracy, makes it all the more bleak if and when he wins. One, because not even that was enough and two, because it's only gonna get worse the longer right-wing authoritarians can entrench power.

Odd. I see your tags. I’ve been able to use BBcode since using CRISPR to delete the malfunctioning sequence from the URL.EAllusion wrote: ↑Mon Jun 01, 2020 10:09 pmWeird. I do. I have continued functionality issues, but everything looks normal to me.

It seems I was wrong about Biden not doing anything as president._DoubtingThomas wrote: ↑Mon May 25, 2020 10:51 pmBut it may not be a good thing in the long-run. The Democrats could lose badly in 2022 and 2024, and a Biden presidency won't help. Nobody likes Biden. I doubt Biden is going to do anything as president.

Re: Trump will lose in November, but
Yeah Biden just threatened Saudi Arabia with consequences like cutting US taxpayer military funding because they wouldn't hold off on cutting oil production another month to help his party's midterm election chances. And the Saudis have confirmed this ublije Zelensky whio denied Trump was engaging i a quid pro quo. Notice Biden didn't ask the Saudis to hold off on cutting priduction for 6 months ir a year, no just enough time to get the Democrats through the next election. Sound familiar to anyone older than 3 years of age? Trump was impeached by the Democrat House of Representatives for the unproven suspicion of threatening to withold federal.taxpayer funding to further his political objective by investigating his opponent Joe Biden's a.k.a. "the big guy's") influence pedaling through his crackhead son Hunter with Ukraine's Burisma holdings. Biden openly admits threatening consequences to the Saudi's. According to EAllusion what Trump did was a million times worse than Watergate. So where does that put Bquid pro quo Joe's recent promised economic consequences to Saudi Arabia in his effort to get oil prices down just long enough to keep his party in power before blowing them out to $10 gallon with hyperinflation and major recession in the name of climate change? Will Mitt Romney be the chair of the Biden impeachment committee when Republicans take the House given that he's so principled?

Its bad enough when you reference your untrustworthy sources that we refuted five minutes later, but it is ridiculous that you think anyone here just takes for granted things you say without sourcing them at all. It is funny that you're still blathering about hyperinflation, proving just how dumb you really are and don't even know what that means.ajax18 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 16, 2022 1:53 pmYeah Biden just threatened Saudi Arabia with consequences like cutting US taxpayer military funding because they wouldn't hold off on cutting oil production another month to help his party's midterm election chances. It is also funny watching you bend over backwards defending the country that gave us 9/11 and pretend like they're some kind of innocent bystander or ally. They're clearly a terrorist country that is now siding with Russia during wartime. Biden is right to take action, and it drives people like you nuts because you'd much prefer the USA become a totalitarian state just like those countries you're now fawning over. That crap you just spewed about midterms bla bla bla isn't supported by anything, it is just right wing talking points probably taken from Saudi media the same was it borrows talking points from Russian media.

Re: Trump will lose in November, but
I never said the Saudis are good people. Two things can be true at once. The Saudis are full of radical Islamic terrorists and Joe is engaging in yet another quid pro quo while the media doesn't even blink. If Biden were a Republican he'd have been impeached for this. But because he's a Democrat it's not even considered wrong.
