Re: Pandemic: Life on the ground
Received an interesting email from work last night.
They have placed a vaccine mandate for all employees in CO, and are currently debating whether to mandate certain employee groups in other states. They are also considering implementing a health insurance surcharge for unvaccinated employees for 2022 benefits.
(A note on my company’s health insurance: The company does all disbursements, etc. Almost all premiums go directly to the company, with the exception of the amount that is paid out to one of the big 3 insurance companies to be an administrator -- and to give us access to their contracted rates.)

CO? I haven't seen anything reported locally about this. I don't know if I should expect to, but I haven't.Doctor Steuss wrote: ↑Fri Oct 08, 2021 5:36 pmReceived an interesting email from work last night.

My guess is the company implemented it there (and not everywhere else simultaneously) because that's where the executive offices are, and most of the board and executive leadership is a bit on the older side (our CEO is 72).Jersey Girl wrote: ↑Fri Oct 08, 2021 6:14 pmCO? Oh okay. I will keep an eye out for articles about this and other organizations. I have to say, I'm in agreement with their mandate.Doctor Steuss wrote: ↑Fri Oct 08, 2021 6:20 pmMy guess is the company implemented it there (and not everywhere else simultaneously) because that's where the executive offices are, and most of the board and executive leadership is a bit on the older side (our CEO is 72).Jersey Girl wrote: ↑Fri Oct 08, 2021 6:14 pmCO? The Nazis had a mandate, I bet you would've agreed with that too.Jersey Girl wrote: ↑Fri Oct 08, 2021 6:34 pmOh okay. I will keep an eye out for articles about this and other organizations. I have to say, I'm in agreement with their mandate.Doctor Steuss wrote: ↑Fri Oct 08, 2021 6:20 pm

Vaccine mandate: Save lives by getting people vaccinated.Atlanticmike wrote: ↑Sat Oct 09, 2021 12:04 pmThe Nazis had a mandate, I bet you would've agreed with that too.
Nazi mandate: Kill Jews and all the people sitting on land the Germans want for themselves.
Hmm. Having some trouble seeing A-m's point. Guess I must be dumb.

Agreeing with others, here. This doesn’t seem to be a very good argument from you, Mike, considering that you willingly subject yourself to all sorts of mandates or lawful requirements every day.
As example, you say that you own a roofing company. Are you licensed?

Oh look. The word for the day in the clown village is 'Nazi'. Why not take your big floppy shoes off, get comfy, and try to become part of a discussion?Atlanticmike wrote: ↑Sat Oct 09, 2021 12:04 pm

This is what your sentence would have looked like if a third grader had written it:
The Nazis had a mandate. I bet you would have agreed with that, too.

Re: Pandemic: Life on the ground
Got the third dose of Pfizer on Tuesday. GEEZ.
I have one side effect: FATIGUE. Lots of it. Like every single day and night since then. The first 2 doses made me sleepy but this is x's a hundred compared to that. Walking up the stairs (when I usually run) feels like bricks are tied to my feet. I've been sleeping average 12 hours every night and do not feel rested when I wake up. It's crazy.
It's okay. I'll do this every 6 months for the rest of my life if I need to.
I don't mind dragging myself around. It's far better than dragging myself to a bed on a Covid unit. Anyway, I thought I would share that with the 3rd dose...it's different for me. Not horrible, but different for sure.

That is rough Jersey Girl, sorry to hear it.
I assume based on our previous conversations that you are consuming lots of water? I only ask because from anecdotal experience those people I know who hydrate well seemed to have less issues.
Hope you get to feeling better.
