The War in Jesusland?

Post by Moksha »

Over on the MD&D board, poster The Nehor writes:
Jesusland would face a civil war between the libertarians and the theocratic fascists shortly after its secession.
Does anyone have more information about this? Would AM, Cultellus, or Ajax has more specifics about the positions taken by the theocratic fascists and how that would put them in conflict with the libertarians? Seems like they could both find common ground in Trump as fellow regressives.

What's Jesusland?

Is that an amusement park? Are people lining up to ride The Crucifix?
Religion is for people whose existential fear is greater than their common sense.

The god idea is popular with desperate people.

The water walking ride is a big hit. The map shown on the MD&D board somewhat corresponds to what we call the red states. They sell a lot of Kool-Aid.

Hot take from the Nehor:

Internecine conflict arises out of chaos.

Wow. I just swooned and fainted from the brilliance of, “Strong men vie for power when there’s a power vacuum.”

Brighamland became pretty intolerably authoritarian very quickly. Is that preferable?
"I have learned with what evils tyranny infects a state. For it frustrates all the virtues, robs freedom of its lofty mood, and opens a school of fawning and terror, inasmuch as it leaves matters not to the wisdom of the laws, but to the angry whim of those who are in authority.”
