I thought I did. In terms of the R rating, the equivalent of "huge throbbing tapir dick" would be something like "moist vagina" The difference is the reference to sexual arousal. The distinction between members and nonmembers of the forum isn't relevant to the movie rating for each forum.

Thanks, Jersey Girl. I appreciate your willingness to clarify. I need to re-read the information on the banned word list to, as we say, refresh my recollection.

While you're at it, I'm going to request that you or other members of the mod team, including admin, review the posts in which the phrase was used. Then please tell me why some references were moved to Prison and why others were left here in Paradise. I don't see a consistency of practice there, but I could be missing something.

In the end, I want to see Shades make the ruling himself as he has in the past.

OK, please think this through with me for a minute. Let's say there are five posts with the phrase in Spirit Prison. There are three possible explanations for each. First, they could be in a thread started in Prison, in which case, they're in the right place. Second, they could have been moved to Prison for a reason unrelated to the presence of the phrase, in which case, they're in the right place. Third, they were moved to Prison solely because of the presence of the phrase, which, given our joint consideration of the issue, is simply a mistake. To fix that mistake, we would move the post back to Paradise, where more people will see it. I don't think asking five different people to review the same set of posts when the only possible change to the board will be counter to what you are asking for makes sense. If I'm missing something, please let me know.

If you find a post in Prison that you think was moved solely because it contains the phrase, please let us know and we'll take a look and reconsider whether it belongs in Paradise instead.

So, talking about “huge throbbing tapir dick” is cool as long as its clinical, and “pink vagina hat” is off limits only in context to sexual arousal. Fair enough.

I just … here’s the thing. Russell is metaphorically a huge throbbing tapir dick, no arousal implied. It’s more like a prehensile appendage reference (did you know tapirs use their huge throbbing penises to scratch their own backs?). Also, I don’t know about you, but the sight of a huge throbbing tapir dick is kind of sickening, and so I thought it apropos to describe him as such since the dude is 1) a dick, 2) a huge dick, and 3) he’s sickening in the way that when you drive by a retention pond that doesn’t drain and it’s late in the year and you smell that sort of decaying plant material mixed with stagnant water. Tapirs also use their dicks as basically an additional hand, as it were, much in the same way Russell likes to lend a hand over at SeN to ‘scratch DCP’s back’, no homo. But they have to engorge their dicks to be useful, hence the “throbbing” bit. The “huge” bit is self-evident. And the only way Russell is ever useful to mopologetics is by being a HTTD.

Anyway. My insult isn’t as clumsy as it appears to be. There are layers. Whereas “pink vagina hat” is, I dunno, kind of lazy. It’s more of a hurr hurr durr imma keep saying “vagina” to the ladies because that’s my ceiling.

Personally, I find Mike's use of all caps on multiple posts irritating and I wish he would stop. It's just like Please Don't Eat the Daisies, only he's a grownup. Now, in addition to responding to reports, answering questions, etc., I'm going to have to go to Shades and say, Hey Shades!! I know you're busy with life crises and all, but I need to you to make a brand new rule to prohibit behavior that even a fifth grader knows is stupid and rude.

I also think all phones matter.

Hold the phone. Let's talk about sexual arousal*. If a male poster consistently targets only known female posters with sexually charged and/or provocative comments, couldn't that be possibly attributed to sexual arousal on the part of the male poster and not necessarily just an attempt to shut down or harass female voices? One or both, or all three?

Because I don't like the idea of being used as a prop. And I don't know why any of this is subject to discussion but that's what we do here.
