No one is wearing "education as a badge." This is just something people say when they're woefully uneducated but at the same time want to pretend they're on equal footing with those who are informed.Atlanticmike wrote: ↑Sat Oct 30, 2021 8:03 pmYou're funny ceeboo. I saw the same thing but left it alone this time because I haven't figured out if K Graham is actually a new poster or he's actually ICARUS in disguise. One thing I've learned over the years is when someone wears their "education" as a badge of honor, like K Graham, that usually means they're not very intelligent. The post I've read from K Graham seem to indicate lots of formal education, but lacking when it comes to intelligence and that's a shame because you can't teach intelligence, intelligence is an internal force, some of us have it and some of us don't.
One of the most educated men I know is a hard left liberal and he's about as dumb as dirt when it comes to organizing and implementing some of the most basic task that help a truly intelligent person out perform a well educated person almost 100% of the time.

No crap. But "personal intelligence" has nothing to do with you or Atlanticmike rambling ignorantly about subjects you know nothing about. You rely on Dennis Prager for just about everything, and Atlanticmike relies heavily on any Right Wing video he finds on Youtube.

Well, if you had a scholarship, then you should demand payment from them for your time that was wasted.
Why, do you see yourself as someone that I couldn't handle? And do you really want to pick a fight with me?

I think we need a rule in the forum about this.Morley wrote: ↑Sat Oct 30, 2021 10:40 pmI agree, Physics Guy.Physics Guy wrote: ↑Sat Oct 30, 2021 9:53 pmDealing with educated people who aren't especially bright can be difficult. Dealing with smart people who have too little education can also be difficult. In my experience, the surprising thing is how similar the two kinds of difficult are. In both cases you have people who keep thinking they understand things that they actually don't.
Then there are those who, under the influence of knowing they are both smart and educated, mistakenly think that they're conversant in fields about which they really know relatively little. I think the disposition to think one is an expert is independent of either intelligence or education.

What is not clear and obvious about this? I am K. Graham. He is my sock puppet. I am using that name and alias to highlight political points about and with the left without being insulting by saying it to the left.ceeboo wrote: ↑Sat Oct 30, 2021 9:05 pmKevin is not a new poster - He is a very long time poster who recently has returned to the board. In my opinion, personal intelligence is a really complex thing. It involves multiple layers that are tethered to an enormously broad set of subjects and topics. For this reason, I am uncomfortable making any suggestions about anyone's intelligence (especially so on a discussion board that leaves all of us with significant limitations concerning important information about an individual person on said discussion board.)One thing I've learned over the years is when someone wears their "education" as a badge of honor, like K Graham, that usually means they're not very intelligent. Having said that, I would submit that there are real differences between intellect and wisdom. They are not the same thing. One can posses various degrees of intellect and wisdom but they are not necessarily connected - they can be. Neither of them are reliant on education. Given the two (intelligence and wisdom) it is intelligence that can be impacted by education - Not wisdom.

Why? Did you find out who is advertising “Fing crap” on Fox and F them? The analogy doesn’t work so you must have herpes.

I would not wish to claim that an advanced education entitles one to pronounce authoritatively on all possible questions. But certain kinds of education - particularly those involving hard science and maths in an elite institution - do filter out those who can't think logically, are resistant to fighting their way through tough barriers to understanding, or refuse to junk the way they have always thought and start again when the data are against them.K Graham wrote: ↑Sat Oct 30, 2021 11:33 pmNo crap. That is not an infallible recipe for producing people equipped to deal with complex real-world problems, but it gets you quite a long way towards that goal.

Well, if im wrong ceeboo then I apologize to K Graham for calling him Icarus. But there’s something about the way he writes that is very familiar and I haven't figured it out yet. Anyways, KG is right up there with Icarus when it comes to left wing group think, which is fine if that's the way you want to live, but I couldn't do it.ceeboo wrote: ↑Sat Oct 30, 2021 9:05 pmKevin is not a new poster - He is a very long time poster who recently has returned to the board.
