We catch up with you, knock you off your feet and start to beat the tar out of you. Would you just lie there and take your licking or would you shoot back? What if you just punched back at one of us and because this attacker had taken enough fentanyl to kill a horse, he died from a single blow? Do you deserve to spend the next fiver or 10 years in prison for that?

Anyone can correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe Judge Schroeder can overturn a guilty verdict based on insufficient evidence given by the prosecutors. If the Judge thinks the jury reached a guilty verdict based on nonsense then it’s a possibility. So, I do think KR’s attorney was personality managing the judge.
I’d do it if I thought a judge were susceptible to that sort of thing.

No, but irrelevant. The fact that the attorney brought it up meant that he felt it was addressing the question the judge was asking of him.
