I wouldn't kill you nor would I need to. Killing someone even so vile and despicable as you are, would still haunt me for the rest of my days.
So imagine I'm down in the Nuevo Puerto Rico collective burning casas of faithful disciples of Alexandria Ocasio Cortez. We both know that the police are either unable or not allowed to do anything about it. Would you come and try to put out the fire? Or do you have no right to be there and do that?

Now let's assume you attempt to put out the fire. That of course pisses me off so I chase you down with some other confederate flag bearing boys. We catch up with you, knock you off your feet and start to beat the tar out of you. Would you just lie there and take your licking or would you shoot back? What if you just punched back at one of us and because this attacker had taken enough fentanyl to kill a horse, he died from a single blow? Do you deserve to spend the next fiver or 10 years in prison for that?
You literally would be this guy given your scenario:

Was it worth it, Peter? Was it worth getting your crap blown off by a retard with a rifle, Peter?

What a braindead invert-the-argument example. -_-

I'm not arguing he doesn't have PTSD
We don't have enough information. I doubt he really has PTSD.

I also don't think it should be assumed to have influenced his testimony.
It depends on the judge. In some cases a PTSD diagnosis is used in court as evidence of self-defense.

It wasn't brought into evidence.

It doesn't matter if he does/does not have PTSD. It's not relevant to the case.

According to his attorney, Rittenhouse is in therapy for PTSD

Schroeder asked Rittenhouse: “Is there any reason for me to be concerned that you have some kind of disability, mental or emotional, that would prevent you from being fully aware of what your actions are and making a rational decision? Any reasons I should be concerned about that?”

Rittenhouse, 18, replied “No, Your Honor.”

Lead defense attorney Mark Richards of Racine then added: “He’s in therapy. I don’t think he has a mental illness or anything. As a result of this incident (referring to Aug. 25, 2020), he has PTSD.”

--------------

Strange that the attorney would cut him off and throw that in there unless he thought it was relevant to the trial.

Was the jury present for those exchanges?

Anyone can correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe Judge Schroeder can overturn a guilty verdict based on insufficient evidence given by the prosecutors. If the Judge thinks the jury reached a guilty verdict based on nonsense then it’s a possibility. So, I do think KR’s attorney was personality managing the judge.

I’d do it if I thought a judge were susceptible to that sort of thing.

No, but irrelevant. The fact that the attorney brought it up meant that he felt it was addressing the question the judge was asking of him.
