Holy crap, how did I miss this. So he shoots Rosenbaum, he immediately goes down so he is NO LONGER a threat. But then Kyle turns around and shoots him three more times!?!?!

But he was only trying to remove the threat, he wasn't intending to kill him?

Ya. Right.

Richie McGinniss, a critical witness in the murder trial of Kyle Rittenhouse and employee of conservative website the Daily Caller, claimed that Rosenbaum "lunged" for his gun as he was shot. Close up video footage shows that to be suspect.
I did see that video. There was neither a “lunge” nor an attempt to grab the rifle. Rittenhouse heard footfalls behind him, wheeled and shot. If I understand correctly, Rittenhouse testified he knew Rosenbaum was unarmed and that verbal threats were made by someone else at the scene. I don’t envy the jurors having to decide whether use of deadly force was reasonable and necessary to prevent death or grevious bodily harm.

we all just have to live through it,

So the first shot hit him in the pelvis and put him out of commission. By his own admission, Rittenhouse had accomplished what he said he intended to accomplish. He removed the threat. But then he turns around and shoots him three more times as he's lying face down, one shot went through the back which is the shot that actually killed him. That's execution style.

OK, how is that not cold blooded murder?

I still can't see crap when it's moving. It's okay. Probably was more clear in the courtroom. I do disagree with the prosecuting attorney when he says that this activity was what started the sequence.
Thing is we don't know what started it and Rittenhouse isn't likely to tell us if he did in fact provoke him in some way. Even if he made verbal threats to shoot him, that would be considered provocation and he couldn't claim self defense.
It appears Ritters knows he’s being chased or targeted, especially since he was threatened by Rosenbaum earlier. Ziminski was also present earlier and appears to have been working with Rosenbaum to some degree since they were together at 1) at the threatening, 2) lighting a dumpster on fire (Ritters put it out enraging Z&R), and 3) Ziminski telling Rosenbaum to “get him, kill him”. Ziminski fires off his gun as Ritters is running across the parking lot - Ritters presumably assumes Ziminski is firing at him, so he turns around just as Rosenbaum reaches toward him/the gun, thus causing Ritters to fire in self-defense.

It’s my guess Ritters is flagging Rosenbaum just as he sets the extinguisher down because of the verbal threats being made to him, and with Rosenbaum closing in and threatening him. Rosenbaum probably slows or stops each time he’s flagged by Ritters. I’d do the same as Ritters in similar circumstances.

According to the prosecution, Rittenhouse had already acknowledged that it wasn't Rosenbaum who threatened him. There is no evidence of it other than his say so. Rittenhouse also testified that hearing the Ziminski gunshot played no part in his thought process because he knew it wasn't Rosenbaum who fired it. He also proved that the gunshot wound to the hand happened after Rittenhouse shot him as he was lying face down. It wasn't because he shot as he was reaching for the gun. The video makes it clear there was no "reaching" for the gun, and the testimony that he was "lunging" is specious at best.

Was Rosenbaum going to tickle him? Why was Rosenbaum chasing him?

I think that killing Rosenbaum while he lay faced down incapacitated with a shattered pelvis, makes Rittenhouse a cold blooded murderer. Full stop. What happened before or after that should be irrelevant.

Well, I guess one just has to wait until one’s skull is caved in before pulling the trigger.
