The most disturbing thing about the Rittenhouse case is not that he was acquitted. It's that the right wing is celebrating him as a hero. Several Republican members of Congress have offered to have him as an intern. One, Anthony Sabatini, is even Tweeting about creating "Kyle Rittenhouse Day" as a federal holiday. A 17-year-old took an automatic rifle into a zone where political protests had turned into chaos, then walked out after killing two protestors, and conservatives think that's not only something to excuse but something to celebrate.

I wish we could have used that picture in the trial. Unfortunately, we would have had to allow the picture of Mr. Rosenbaum that was taken after he was arrested for raping young boys and putting his dick in their mouths. I think it was a reasonable compromise. I think that we need to revisit trial procedures for racists and rapists. It seems like juries would prefer to favor the rapists going forward, especially if doing so fits the media narrative and their religious/political affiliations.

Too bad Rittenhouse didn’t see that picture of Rosenbaum, he might have dropped his gun to stroke off instead of shooting him. That or handed him a Proud Boys membership form.
