Just to remind you.

2. Why did Rittenhouse have the need to shoot him four times?

So, I watched the whole thing this morning. All he did was summarize what was talked about and basically said, “crap gets confusing, yo.” Personally I think the thread here does a far better job at parsing out the situation than the video did.canpakes wrote: ↑Fri Nov 26, 2021 4:55 amGadianton wrote: ↑Fri Nov 26, 2021 3:27 amLegal Eagle finally got around to it:

Sure, but there’s a hell of a lot more content in this thread. : D
I see the video as doing a good job of explaining - to folks who might say that Rittenhouse committed murder or manslaughter - the details of Wisconsin’s self-defense law.

I had missed the point (and nobody called me on it) that if you are the provoker, then while you ultimately can go ahead and defend yourself with deadly force, you first have the duty to retreat.

Probably because some, to include myself, simply didn’t consider Rittenhouse as the provoker. Juxtaposed to this point would be the rednecks in GA who were, in fact, provokers as they chased Ahmaud down with weapons drawn.
