I should be clear , when I attempt to read Spanish it is like looking through a veil. Only some things a clear. These articles are about a celebration date for the birth of Mary not when she became pregnant. There is some concern for the immaculate conception idea (of Mary a peculiar Catholic doctrine). There is some discussion about where the idea of the date of birth comes from. I do not see an attempt to establish the age Mary became pregnant. However I do not see anything preventing somebody from thinking 14. That is not a bad age to be and remain a virgin.

Look, I think all the stories about Jesus being conceived other than by sex between Mary and Joseph are just made up many years later.

But (sigh) I shall try to answer you in your own terms.

Luke chapter 1:

34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

The intention of the person (whoever it was) who wrote the bolded text was clearly to show that Mary consented to her role in God's plan for human salvation, which is how it has always been interpreted. And indeed Mary has been seen in Roman Catholic theology as the 'co-redemptrix" for that reason.
