how can you know what point he's trying to make without "Pretending to know thoughts?"That one is not really making your point.

Nah. We are just beginning to have fun.
Everybody is totally cool with this, correct? Not a goddamn soul on this board has even one goddamn objection to any of this, well, except me and Atlanticmike and a few folks with some common sense.
But all y'all in the club, you want this for Canada, correct?
are suspended until further notice. It is therefore permissible to restrict the rights of personal freedom, freedom of expression, including the freedom of the press, the freedom to organize and assemble
And, let's have the authority to ask a bank to cease transactions for citizens. Why not? Right?Warrants for House searches, orders for confiscations as well as restrictions on property, are also permissible beyond the legal limits otherwise prescribed.

Reichstag Fire Decree. Here's the entire article.
The Canadian Emergency Order does none of those things. The statute under which they are issued specifically prohibits suspension of the Canadian equivalent of our Constitution and Bill of Rights. I'm listening right now to the Parliament debate the Emergency Order. You know, like democracies do.Article 1
Sections 114, 115, 117, 118, 123, 124, and 153 of the Constitution of the German Reich are suspended until further notice. Therefore, restrictions on personal liberty, on the right of free expression of opinion, including freedom of the press, on the right of assembly and the right of association, and violations of the privacy of postal, telegraphic, and telephonic communications, warrants for house searches, orders for confiscations, as well as restrictions on property, are also permissible beyond the legal limits otherwise prescribed.
This ongoing tantrum of yours trying to compare the Canadian government to Nazi Germany and clearing the demonstration to Kristallnact is an absolute insult to those who were persecuted, abused, imprisoned, worked literally to death, and gassed in Germany. You are absolutely trivializing the Holocaust. Your political zealotry has overcome not only your common sense to understand the gravity of different situations, but also your moral center, as you take wildly contradictory positions depending on whether you see those involved as "the people" or "jack booted thugs."
I am the child of Canadians and most of my family are Canadians. To put a Nazi symbol on their flag -- something that they all take pride in (and they are mainly in Alberta), is beyond disgusting.
Have fun playing with the anti-trolls.

He can’t say, but I can tell you. He’s quoting from the Reichstag Fire Decree, because Binger sees Canada as akin to Nazi Germany.

Is this a new standard for the board, one where attaching Nazi symbols to something or someone is offensive? Should we put that rule in green?Res Ipsa wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 7:52 pmOh, it's from this: https://encyclopedia.ushmm.org/content/ ... ire-decree

LMFAO! Absolutely laughing my ass right off and off and off and off again.
When was the exact moment that calling someone or something that someone was fond of a Nazi became offensive? When?
By the way - I damned AGREE that it is offensive. It is aggressive. It hurts. It is meant to hurt just like it is meant to hurt when people get knocked over by a goddamn draft horse. That is the point.
But please, do tell, when did it become hurtful on this board, because, as far as I can tell, it has been sport for just about ever?

Re: Canadian Overreach to be Made Permanent
Links? And will the total number of those links from board history exceed the number of Nazi images and symbology you’ve promoted in just this and your other thread?
Every couple of years, some bozo comes along and decides to toss around the Holocaust as a prop in their misguided attempt to pawn off their rhetoric as edgy or legit. You’re just the latest in that parade of propagandists.
I’ve noticed, when considering what groups might be the ones to look out for when concerned about rights, that those folks downplaying the Holocaust - or politicizing it to prop up their damaged and tedious arguments - are the ones that require the closest watch.
