Born and raised in it. RM, BYU, Temple Marriage, High Priest, full tithing, all that. I have 13 siblings, 6 are in, 7 are out. My family joined the church in Switzerland, Australia and Scotland, others joined somewhere between Ohio and Missouri. My family developed many of the towns in Utah and donated a chunk of the land to create what is now Utah State University. My family developed parts of SLC. We still have land that is used for Ag research by Utah State University. My family's monument in the cemetery at USU is a prominent one. My ancestors also brought the first red angus to Utah.dastardly stem wrote: ↑Tue Feb 22, 2022 4:23 pmPolitics aside, what is your association with Mormonism? How do you view the religion?
I see the religion as a business. Its primary purpose is to increase the wealth of its shareholder. The doctrine and policies are in place to entertain or hook adherents with the purpose of maximizing wealth across all business disciplines, including but not limited to the value of its not for profit that is in the religion business.
I see Mormonism differently, and feel like the motherland and heritage of the religion has been ripped away and lost. What should be a proud and diverse community, is fractured and, in my opinion, not salvageable. It has divided among adherents, and then within those sides, factions are in place to incite more divisiveness along political lines. The anti/ex crowd is just an extension of what was happening on the inside, but with different organizers.
I am proud AF to be a Mormon. I respect the work my family did in the frontier and journey. Their adventures were solid. They were imperfect. They followed and led imperfect people. They were flawed, and, they were family. They fought. They died. They went bananas and left the country to form polygamy sects in Mexico that still exist. They were as diverse as any family could be. And Mormonism somehow was a bind.

I asked him. For all you know, others did too, but that does not stop you from saying stupid things. And this post of yours, should be framed and put on display. You are a nuisance.

I had someone just a couple of days ago ask me. I’ve had others ask me on the board. I’ve had three members ask me In PMs. But of course you NEED to believe the opposite because this is your Progressive Hidey-Hole where you come to have your confirmation bias stroked and petted by fellow progressives so you can go through life confident about the miserable choices you have made.

There’s the problem, again.
Define what you want to call out as the ‘miserable choices’ of others. Tell why you believe those choices are miserable.
Otherwise, you’re just name-calling at best, in the same way you’d accuse others as doing.

Hey moderator!! Since you haven’t removed Doc Cams spirit prison post he posted here in the terrestrial, does that mean we can call posters a Pword here in the terrestrial now? Can we call each other a deballed cockolded coward? Can we talk about nuts being ascending and having another poster grabbing them and pulling them back down? Because you “the moderator “ leaving his spirit prison post here in the terrestrial says we can do exactly the same, correct?? Or are the rules different for me since I’m not on the “inside”?
