Ukraine - First battle is lost.

Post by Binger »

Well, in the battle over public opinion, Biden lost the first round of the Ukraine war.

https://thehill.com/homenews/administra ... e-if-Trump
A new Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll survey released Friday found that 62 percent of those polled believed Putin would not be moving against Ukraine if Trump had been president. When looking strictly at the answers of Democrats and Republicans, 85 percent of Republicans and 38 percent of Democrats answered this way.
There is only one number in that quote that mattered to Biden. Guess which one it is?

Ouch!

I guess my question would be why people think Putin wouldn't have invaded if Trump were President. When was Trump hard on Putin? All he's done is given aid and comfort to Russia.

Well, and there wasn't a war with Ukraine while he was president. That is probably one of the key factors.

Something better change in that public opinion poll if Biden decides to send Americans off to die.

The poll also said most people thought Biden wasn’t being hard enough on Russia.

That seems consistent with the results I highlighted.

This will be a lesson to other at risk nations on why you should never give up your nuclear weapons without an ironclad treaty with the US, whether Kurdish rebels, Afhan allies, Taiwan, Hong Kong, etc. We're not a reliable ally.
And when the Confederates saw Jackson standing fearless like a stonewall, the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.

Treaties are never ironclad. Countries have withdrawn from treaties ever since treaties were invented. Times change and, as they do, treaties become outdated. Although Iran learned the lesson in record time. by the way, Ukraine have up its nukes in exchange for Russia’s promise to respect it as a sovereign nation.

Wow! You're so right. Who exactly made that decision for Ukraine? Do you think they regret it now?
