So here’s a thread Binger and I contribute to in a positive way, and a Kevin thread no less, and the two people who are trolling (Doubtingthomas & Moksha) are two of the loudest voices trying to get me kicked off the board. Funny! You gotta love the double standard!

Some things I do to battle joint pain in no particular of importance:
  • Keeping my sugar intake low. There are some other foods that can increase inflammation in your body but I've found sugar to be about the worst and fairly universal in everyone. This includes from sources other than sweets, alcohol is one of the worst sources in my opinion.
  • I have a "strong joint protocol" that is part of my regular workout routine. You can do a pretty quick internet search for them but whatever you do should absolutely include training your knees in reverse, foot strengthening exercise, hip mobility and strengthening, and shoulder programing that focuses on correcting all the terrible habits that our modern society creates (rounded backs, shoulder hunching, poor posture)
  • I like my glucosamine and chondroitin supplement even if the evidence is pretty sparse on efficacy, placebo effect or not it makes me feel better.
I will say that when it comes to sports and lifting the joint strengthening work has been a game changer. I've never been as stable and secure in my movement even under extreme circumstances.

ETA: since I'm at the gym watching some folks do it I'll add: start your workout sessions with dynamic stretching, that raises your heart rate and helps warm up your ligaments. Save your static hold style stretching for the end of your workout. It you reverse that order or don't warm-up at all you're likely leaving a ton of potential on the table.
