It'll be one I'll miss. As history, it's an interesting subject. BY maneuvered to secure and consolidate his power. I'd be interested to see a realistic portrayal of what really happened there, including what happened to Samuel Smith. He conveniently died around that time and some believe he was poisoned, possibly by BY. A documentary or docudrama covering that would be interesting.
However, DCP is being paid to bear his testimony and so bring on the whitewash and rosy portrayals. No thanks.

Myth is misused by the powerful to subjugate the masses all too often.

Sounds like Galadriel refusing the power of the one ring, and the future real estate corporation dissipating like the eye of Sauron. Sail into the west, Sidney!

So was Sidney Rigdon's opposition to the polygamy sex-cult practice the main factor that did him in? Couldn't he see that being a fuddy-duddy moralist adhering to monogamy would set him at odds with the more lusty members of the Traveling Quorum of the Apostles?

Given that the initial Witnesses film ran to over a million dollars, then there’s the follow-up extended length docudrama, plus snippets, and now a whole new film project, all of which don’t seem to serve a wider purpose beyond the aggrandisement of an individual…one has to ask, is this simply a money laundering exercise? Are these films just a way of moving donations into individuals pockets? The films don’t seem to serve a purpose - they’re not moving the narrative forward, they’re not providing new information, they’re not subjects of interest to a broad Mormon or non Mormon audience. So what is their point?
