I think the best advice for the in house fighting would be to take Napoleon Bonaparte's advice......Never interrupt

Re: Stephen Smoot's Vendetta
It’s sad to see Stephen go down the path of anger and intolerance. I’m not sure why, but I expected better from him.
My hope is that Stephen will finally realize that no matter how hard he tries to impress the Mopologists, they will never fully accept him in their inner circle because he is gay.
Stephen, you are a smart young man with much potential. Please sit down with someone you trust and respect and together review your contributions on Neville Neville Land. I promise you as God is my witness, nobody that truly cares about you will tell you to continue on this path.
Stephen, there are/were respected apologists that completely avoid the Mopologist tactics (like Richard Bushman, Truman Madsen, Grant Hardy, etc.). You’re too good to continue this harmful and childish behavior.

If not for the MHA label in the lower RH corner, I’d have thought that this was a stock photo for the category of “Humor: Sudden Gastrointestinal Distress”.
As this is a real person and not a model posing ridiculously on purpose, I don’t think that I’ve ever seen a photograph of anyone not suffering from some horrible calamity who looked more curiously uncomfortable, ever.
Perhaps Smoot needs to reassess his diet.

Stephen,
You should know that the mighty SHULEM here at Discuss Mormonism has thoroughly kicked Gee's and Muhlestein's sorry asses and if need be, I will kick yours too and it will hurt and you'll be sore.

Listen, bro, you need to check out my threads here on this board and understand what you are up against. You are no match for me, boy! I will wipe you out if you continue to defend the Book of Abraham. There will be no mercy and I'll run you over just as I did Nibley, Gee, and Muhlestein.
Think about that.

This is the face and expression of a very troubled soul who is struggling to hold it together. His countenance has anger and frustration. He's not happy. He's going to break.

You are very welcome, Dr. Shades. I bet it feels awfully good to see that your "Chapel/Internet Mormon" idea is continuing to pay dividends.Dr. Shades wrote: ↑Tue Jul 12, 2022 9:23 amThis thread has been a wellspring of valuable insights. Thank you for starting it, Doctor Scratch. And thanks to all the rest of you for your thought-provoking comments. Home run!!

Re: Stephen Smoot's Vendetta
This whole thing is ridiculous, the delusional attacking the delusional over nonsense.
Anyway, Mr. Smoot, if the picture is how you really look now, maybe get something to eat and keep doing so until you gain a few pounds? Or perhaps you need to see a doctor and check out your vitals? You look a little emaciated, not healthy. Maybe just deal rationally with your true self already?
As others have said, you are attaching yourself to the wrong wagon here. Dr. P and Midge don't care about you, only about their pet grievances. Midge traveled halfway around the world to attack someone that had the audacity to have a different opinion than him regarding his stupid LDS maori theories. What does that tell you about your mope team? Also, Dr. P clearly is still smarting about the 2012 ousting and is looking to use you for his purposes. You have more to contribute or at least you shouldn't waste any more time with these nonsensical fights. Neither side is based in reality.

Re: Stephen Smoot's Vendetta
Midgley now takes aim at Bachman Turner overdrive. BTO. He sure hates apostates.Doctor Scratch wrote: ↑Tue Jul 12, 2022 8:07 pmYou sort of have to wonder what recourse the Heartlanders have. For example, can they take legal action? The Mopologists--DCP in particular--used to be very fond of threatening lawsuits. And if the Heartlanders chose to sue Smoot and DCP for defamation, DCP wouldn't have BYU to pay his legal fees this time around: he would have to pay the fees himself. It would basically destroy his ability to travel during his retirement. Given that, perhaps he should re-think his support for "Neville-Neville Land"?
They could also go the FAIR route and contact Smoot and DCP's ecclesiastical leaders. Longtime readers will probably recall that Scott Gordon of FAIR went after David Twede by "ratting" him out to the SCMC, or some other Church disciplinary arm. I don't think there can be any doubt that the SCMC is keeping a close eye on both "Neville-Neville Land" and "Sic et Non." The Mopologists are literally trying to tear down the Heartlander's faith. If anyone amongst SLC leadership is paying attention, you would think that this would be cause for concern.
Further, as I understand it, Meldrum and the Heartlanders have allies amongst the Brethren--notably the late Elder Boyd K. Packer, who championed Medlrum's work and intervened when Midgley tried to get it removed from Deseret Book. The Mopologists accuse the Heartlanders of trying to "undermine" the modern apostles, but bear in mind that Midgley publicly said that the Mopologists were sitting around and **waiting for Elder Mark E. Petersen TO DIE** so that they could publicize the LGT. Talk about disrespect and steadying the ark!
Again, it's worth pointing out: the Heartlanders have tried to make peace and clear the air. In the face of that, the Mopologists doubled down and increased the viciousness of their attacks. It's clear who the aggressors are in this case.
I wonder if Professor Peterson can now remember our unpleasant experiences with Talmage Bachman, the desolate son of the famous Canadian musician Randy Bachman. However, I have never been to what is known as Saltspring Ialand, where the younger Bachman once more or less lived.

Re: Stephen Smoot's Vendetta
Smoot used to be significantly overweight. I don’t know whether he had weight loss surgery, or if he adopted a different diet, or if he took up an exercise regime, but he used to be so fat and stricken with acne that his nickname was “The Young Man Carbuncular.” He was once compared, not implausibly, to the character Donkey Lips from the Nickelodeon TV show, Salute Your Shorts. I bet he’s glad to have left that version of himself behind, though his current guise—“Peter Pan”—is 10,000 times uglier.Dr Exiled wrote: ↑Wed Jul 13, 2022 6:46 pmThis whole thing is ridiculous, the delusional attacking the delusional over nonsense.
