There is a funny phenomenon in this thread worth taking note of. That being the way conspiracy brain denies his views were picked up from Fox News. And I believe him. Conspiracy brain is authentically anti-media of the sort a person might consume via cable TV. So what's interesting about it? It illustrates just how complete conspiracy thinking has become part of the GOP identity that the most mainstream of right-wing sources and your average curmudgeon conspiracy brain are effectively living in the same ecosystem. Culty may imagine there is separation but it's just part of the illusion of conspiracy thinking - the unique understanding of what is REALLY going on, the dismissal of widely held perspectives as inherently flawed or engineered misdirection. The people are being lied to but waking up and someday there will be a reaction to all this misinformation that is totally not conspiracy brain thinking.
So you have a theory that believing in conspiracies is anti-media but Veritas has a theory that believing in conspiracies is pro-media (FOX)?
You both agree though that you believe the correct media and you have theories and believe that the incorrect media is conspiring to lead people with conspiracy brain. Is that right?
I have a theory that Res and panny have disapproved posts that I have made in MY THREADS but that all y’all believe you are having an authentic conversation.

No, the reality is conspiracy theory thinking is so thoroughly enmeshed in the modern GOP that it's most mainstream outlets distribute the same information for consumption as your conspiracy networks. So you are quite able to honestly deny viewing Fox while being in lock step with their messaging. As a conspiracy believer.

So Veritas believes in a conspiracy, based on a theory, that I watch FOX. But your conspiracy is that I watch everything like FOX so I am able to deny watching FOX.

Wrong yet again. Veritas may see you saying the same things being said on Fox News and does what a person would normally do - assume that is your source. But that's not accurate. You are in your niche of the conspiracy ecosystem that no longer just shares ecotones with mainstream GOP. It's the same ecosystem being fed by the same sources manipulating the same impulses. You don't need to watch Fox to be in step with Fox News because Fox News isn't the originator of the conspiracy. They are a consumer like you are. They repackage and distribute it in a format that may make some more comfortable with the source being Fox rather than some alt source. But it's all mixing around in the ecosystem of conspiracy thinking now that conspiracy thinking is the root of American conservatism.

So this conspiracy theory relies on two conspiracies.
1: some media is conspiring to spread information to conservatives so the consumer can believe the media conspiracies without watching FOX, and;
2: your chosen media sources are not conspiring at all and never spread misinformation.
I am assuming that your sources include The Atlantic, NPR and CNN, correct?
The problem, as I see it, is that Alex Jones may well be finished by these awards against him and by the exposure of this. But in a way, Alex Jones has already won because, you know, when he started Infowars, he owned conspiracy theories. At this point, the Republican Party and Fox News and the entire right sort of own the conspiracy theory space. It has become mainstream.
I am assuming that your sources include The Atlantic, NPR and CNN, correct?
To this question, I believe critical thinking requires looking at sources across spectrums and points of origin. What I look for are typically original sources and opposing sources. So yeah, I subscribe digitally to The Atlantic. I check out CNN. I will listen to NPR. I also check out Fox. I frequently refer to the BBC and Al Jazeera English. I have a digital subscription to Reason and the National Review, The American Scholar, and a couple of professional publications. I listen to podcasts on a number of topics. If someone posts something about something, I'll try to find where it originated and read out from there.

You aren't describing a conspiracy. You doing whatever it is that you do is not a conspiracy. Someone else's claims about why you do what you do are not "conspiracy theories." They may be (and probably are) bad mind reading, but they are not conspiracy theories. You're drawing a massive false equivalency.
You've let drop from time to time what you use as sources. Given the nature of those sources, it's not surprising that they echo or resemble the party line on Fox News. You say you don't watch Fox News. I find that entirely believable. I also don't think you avoid Fox News for the purpose of being able to deny watching Fox News. I don't really care, but if I had to guess at gunpoint, I'd guess it's because Fox is too corporatist for you. You seem to value the common sense of the everyman over expertise, and Fox News is not the everyman.
he/him we all just have to live through it,
holding each other’s hands.
What it comes down to is the difference between a Fox News viewer and someone inclined to get their information from the more direct conspiratorial sources doesn't really exist based on the outcome of information consumption. It's a functional part of the information ecosystem that allows the illusion of separation to exist even as the actually positions taken align. Being able to imagine there is a separation helps maintain the health of the conspiracy ecosystem.
