Herschel's response is that none of this is good. People need to eat better instead of getting affordable insulin. People who are deaf need to pull themselves up from their bootstraps and figured out how to live life without the hearing.

I agree that people need to eat better. There's a bit of an attitude in this country favoring cures over prevention.
Of course, denying people affordable insulin on this pretext is beyond idiotic.
