A New York Times reporter confirmed rumors that Donald Trump is considering Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) as his running mate, should he launch a 2024 presidential campaign.

Robert Draper, who writes for The New York Times Magazine, told The Daily Beast's "New Abnormal" podcast that Greene had risen quickly in her first term in Congress by using the same tactics she honed as a right-wing social media influencer harassing Democratic staffers, and she could shoot to the second-highest office in government.

“Republicans kind of wanted to kick her to the curb immediately,” said Draper, author of the new book Weapons of Mass Delusion: When the Republican Party Lost Its Mind. “But instead she became a fundraising dynamo, came to have this huge social media influence, and ultimately came to be very influential within the party itself."

Draper confirmed that Trump has been actively discussing Greene as his No. 2 since February, and while the former president has probably discussed other candidates, as well, the Georgia Republican brings something to the table that could push her over the top.

Wow, if this is a serious scoop. The only way this could get more awesome, IRT a political circus, would be for Biden to not run and for Harris to choose Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as her running mate. Could you imagine Marjorie Taylor-Greene getting all aggro during a live debate? I honestly believe she’d throw hands. Lol.

I actually think they’d have a good shot at winning back the Presidency. My wife and I have recently had the opportunity to interact with the locals where we live and they’re in deep. Real deep. These dudes believe everything the MAGA crowd spews out of their mouths. If forum readers believe Ajax is an anomaly of radical insurrectionist rhetoric they’re sorely mistaken. People like the locals we talked to are gone. They’re absolutely impervious to reason, learning about how the government actually functions, and are scared to death of their own shadows. They’re gone. 50% of the voting electorate live in an alternate reality and no one can move the needle. It’s 100% a cult.

My ballot was simple to fill out this year. Gone are the days of voting for the person no matter the party. I'm sick of the divisiveness, crime and inflation. I voted straight R and No on any incumbent judge. Maybe I'm throwing the baby out with the bathwater but at this point I can't see it getting any worse.

Doc, I have some curiosity as to what kind of story these people you refer to think they are living in.Perhaps it needs no special description.

Last night I watched some baseball on a fox related network. There was a political attack add demonizing the Democrat senator Patti Murray as personally responsible for huge list of terrors including children dying of fentanyl, murder and mayhem. I have seen attack adds over quite a few years but have never before seen such extreme. Do you think the right has become hysterical with fear drummed up by fox?
