Re: Church of the Far-Right
It's not just the future of Evangelical Christianity, it's also the future of Mormonism as I posted apparently to crickets the other day:

I think far-right religious people were attracted to Trump because they recognized in him the same type of grifter they were used to in their pastors, plus he was the first President to offer them fascism in the open.

I agree. And Trump had been friends for decades with the very worst sort of evangelical preachers such as Paula White Cain, a certified lunatic who also is a master con artist.

Re: Church of the Far-Right
Now that Preachers Roger Stone, General Mike Flynn, Pillow Guy Mike Lindell, and Eric Trump are in front of these religious audiences to extoll the messiahs Jesus and Donald, it seems like religious grifting has been taken to new heights.
It seems both ludicrous and profane to hear Roger Stone calling upon Jesus in the congregation.

So, I realize this is trite and a bit too generalized but, when someone tells me they are a Christian, I say thanks for the warning.

I don't necessarily think that about individuals (although I certainly understand why you do), but I definitely will avoid any business advertising they are a Christian business. To me, that is most certainly a big red warning sign.
Religion is for people whose existential fear is greater than their common sense.

Yeah, That's prob. what I meant to say. It's the advertisers that you have to look out for. I guess I just have an expanded list for what is an advertiser to include; Facebook friends that repost Jesus stuff, televangelists, politicians, everybody on the MAD board. Some Schmo wrote: ↑Fri Oct 28, 2022 2:42 pmI don't necessarily think that about individuals (although I certainly understand why you do), but I definitely will avoid any business advertising they are a Christian business. I really don't let it get in the way of anything though. I mean, there is a drywall joint compound co. that has a 'holy mackerel' printed on its box. I still buy it because I like it better than others.
