You misrepresent the data all the time. You told me the other day
And
When the paper literally said word for word what I was saying.

You accuse me of things that you are guilty yourself.

When the paper literally said word for word what I was saying.
I would appreciate if you answer this question.
What RI implied or didn't isn't that important. I'll delete his comment if you want. How do you explain the 19% gap for 18-29 or the 23% gap for 18 to 25? and the 21.5% gap for 26-33.
The pattern for a long time has been women generally marry men older than they and then outlive the men. Is there something about the statistic that this observation does not explain?doubtingthomas wrote: ↑Mon Oct 31, 2022 12:38 am

I completely agree! Women getting with older men is the biggest factor, but RI and Marcus accused me of picking, "snippets from various sources and then stitch them together in an an interpretation that is not consistent with the entire collection of data" when I said the same thing as you.huckelberry wrote: ↑Mon Oct 31, 2022 12:52 amThe pattern for a long time has been women generally marry men older than they and then outlive the men. I'll come back to explain my concerns, but right now a concern is that Marcus is blaming me and accusing me of misogyny for no reason.huckelberry wrote: ↑Mon Oct 31, 2022 12:52 amPerhaps Thomas you could explain what your concern is.

You doing the same damn thing over and over, DT. Now you are taking incomplete snippets of things I've said and quoting them completely out of context. It's the same thing you do with published papers. You grab a snippet that you think supports something you already believe and then ignore everything else, including the context and the conclusions. You've seized on one statistic from one article and are treating it like absolute truth. You know better.doubtingthomas wrote: ↑Mon Oct 31, 2022 12:57 amI completely agree! I question everything, I'm not treating it like gospel truth.Res Ipsa wrote: ↑Mon Oct 31, 2022 2:05 amYou doing the same damn thing over and over, DT. In the past, you haven't been careful at all with published papers. The behavior I'm describing is what you've done with published papers in the past.doubtingthomas wrote: ↑Mon Oct 31, 2022 2:17 amI question everything, I'm not treating it like gospel truth.Res Ipsa wrote: ↑Mon Oct 31, 2022 2:05 amYou doing the same damn thing over and over, DT. How would you explain 21.5% gap between single men and women ages 26-33? Or is the 21.5% gap completely wrong?

I'm a lot more careful with published papers, I don't think that's a fair criticism.
It could be wrong, but so far I haven't seen any evidence to believe it is wrong.
