I would not be surprised in the least if he finally realized he did not have to continually live with all the guilting the church throws at its members. They demand perfection and extra striving and for what? You never measure up, and that just has to wear on people.

I definitely would enjoy having him on! I knew him very well actually, and stayed at his place overnight at one FAIR conference, and we had a blast talking late into the night. In some ways this surprises me, in other ways, not so much. I wish him WELL, it's a tough slog.
