No, most people don't eventually lower their standards. Often, as we get older and stumble through a few bad relationships, our standards get a lot higher.

1) It's not a study, it's an editorial. The clue is right at the top, where it says, "This editorial..." Your relationship with science is just as fraught as your relationship with women.

I have said plenty of times that women tend to be better people than men. I say women are nicer (to men) in other countries because that's what other guys tell me. I've seen it myself with tourists, they are very approachable.

Women in places like Spain are nicer and aren't afraid (or as concerned) of men there. In Mexico, women are nicer to men because they need a man to survive and make it in life.
