I don't know what you want to discuss here as you are aligned with the more tenuous and relative ethical system of anyone participating in this thread. Cam has been pointing out the threats this system poses where blatantly harmful behavior is thrown into question because the church can't offer solid guidance on numerous issues of actual moral concern to society while having plenty to say about metrics associated purely with religiousity.
No cap, fr fr, the Oath of Vengeance that was made by Mormons in the endowment ritual between ~1845 and the early 1930’s, in which Mormons vowed to God they would avenge the blood of the prophets Joseph Smith and Hyrum Smith; that God would avenge the blood of the prophets upon America, and the associated penalty was disembowlment.

Is this civil society, Invincibly Ignorant Man?

I love threads that go on for 60 pages which include MG digressing and avoiding responses while complaining no one else will engage with him.

One man’s digressions are another man’s points. I can’t count how many times I have asked pertinent questions in various threads and then gone back to find them ignored and unanswered. Even after bumping them.

But I won’t mention the hypocrisy of it all.

I will mention, however, that I have a pretty good track record of responding to and answering questions. It may just be that the answers are unacceptable to the masses which converge together in this forum.

But I expect that to be the case.

I would also expect that lurkers and others can find their way through the maze and come to their own reasonings/conclusions.

After all, the thinking HASN’T all been done, although some critics would like to see Mormonism’s ‘demise’ as a foregone conclusion as they move along a road of their own making looking in the rearview mirror.

After my two recent posts it will now move to at least 60 pages. That was my goal. 🤣😄

Not.

But the thread did hold a certain amount of interest for some apparently. So I felt it necessary to respond to as many relevant posts as time would permit. To the dismay of some, I know. 😉

I can certainly appreciate when I asked you about your belief in God or your religious preference and you responded letting me know that your beliefs rely on something that is not human reasoning and thus you were unable to answer my request. I don't know there's much more to discuss if you think there is something else. You can't show me that something else, nor convince me of it, as you concede with that idea of it not being reasonable. You have failed the burden you take upon yourself for claiming what you think is true, or you think is a valid worldview. Your entire position, it appears, is nothing more than your own imagination. Well, of course, you've been told these "truths" by others, but it is apparently only imagination to think any of it is true. That's a tough mindset, i'd think.

But, I also think it's interesting that in this thread, when I've pointed out the failure of your points, you have refused to respond. Each study you've referenced does not say what you think it says. And thus, the entire point of this thread has lost any support. But you have said a lot in this thread. None of it carries any weight nor support, it seems. That's where I'd point out your own refusal to engage. You seem intent to refuse to engage quite often, and refuse to respond to ideas that are attempting to engage your own. But that doesn't take away the fact that you, at least one time, attempted to respond to something I've said. That gave me some semblance of hope that you are at least trying to some extent. But it also gave me little reason to try and respond to you much. You might just have to admit, again, that you have no reason at all.

I was certain at the rate this thread was going there would have been 60 pages at the very least, within minutes of me posting. Sometimes these things just inexplicably die, I guess.

Mg gave it his very best shot though, while still managing to not respond to anything. That's solid commitment to one's goal.
