Should he be cancelled? Oh yeah, he was. And the gals on The View had a heyday. Excluding Whoppi, much to her credit.

Would you have him cancelled because you don’t agree with him? I don’t agree with some of the things he says, but I’m not in favor of cancellation of his voice.

If ‘the other side’ has arguments which are superior to his in truth/value then let them speak! That’s the nature of a free and open society.

Some would like tighter regulations on thought. The Thought Police.

Cancellation is one tactic that is used. Intimidation and name calling is one of a number of tactics used. It’s done on this very board.

He was fired, not cancelled, you daft muppet. Good Lord, this idiot votes.

Think about what you just said. Not that it will make any difference.

Rupert Murdoch firing Tucker Carlson is the fault of leftists, and an attack on the First Amendment.

Math checks out.
He was cancelled by Rupert Murdoch. He no longer has a voice on Fox News.

Call it firing if you want. Same thing in this instance.

On another episode of GenZ Drag Queens Raping People:

https://www.wowktv.com/news/west-virgin ... uch-worse/

tl;dc - GenZ drag queens running the West Virginia State Police academy were filming women, to includes minors in their locker room, and in some cases drugging and raping them. It’s a massive crap show.

Literally institutional misogyny, sexism, misuse of public funds, and cover ups.

Is this civil society?

Here in Utah, the State Board of Education had ~6 hour debate whether or not to teach The Flood.
As per my last post, those debates SHOULD happen. Not be exorcised because one group makes a decision that the debate can’t even be brought to the floor.

You seem to be saying the debate should have been ‘canceled’.

This is not as it should be. Cancellation through intimidation and/or ridicule is a poison/toxin to our society. No matter which side of the floor/debate it comes from.

You heard it here first. We should debate Flat Earth, Lizard People, Fake Moon Landings, and the Hollow Earth theory. Anything less is cAnCeL cUlTuRe.

As American conservatism grows increasingly detached from reality, it grows ever more attached to an interpretation of "free speech" under which conservatives have the right to use every possible platform to spread lies.
I’m not going to go there on this thread. Let it be said that in a number of cases ‘liberals’ have lied and spread untruths. And the facts bear out that this is/was true.

That’s the problem. One man’s ‘truth’ is another man’s lie. Literally. And nothing seems to shake it whether liberal or conservative.

The facts don’t often seem to matter. Political agendas and/or worldviews do. On both sides of the aisle. It is truly frustrating.

Facts like Ancient Aliens building the pyramids and as such needs to be taught in our public schools? The ^ is brought to you by ‘this is what Mormonism does to your brain’.

Ok. He was cancelled by Mitt Romney loving, conservative, Republican, socialist hating, Rubert Murdock, which is the fault of leftists, and an attack on the First Amendment.

Those are extreme examples. Some folks do have differing opinions on what is referred to as the flood of Noah and what that actually entailed.

But who gets to set the agenda?

And in general terms, again…that is the concern being expressed in the OP and throughout the thread. In the future who gets to set the agenda and what effect will that have upon the very fabric upon which our nation was built.

This points out the friction which occurs when religionists rub up against secular humanist progressive liberals.

And again, let me point out as I did to Res Ipsa, I would have no qualms about have any one of these folks as my neighbor unless they were a pedophile or something horrific like that. The folks I’ve talked to on this board, on the whole, with a few exceptions, I think I could live next door to and be friends.

As it is, I think it unlikely that feelings are mutual.

And I’m just a regular guy. Moderate Republican that leans Independent. Drives a Subaru, likes to run, hike, and read John Grisham.

It’s been an eye opener to see some of the twisted responses and avoidance of some of the core issues on this thread. The main one being, what happens if GenZ and coming generations are of the mind to essentially turn over their lives to more and more government control in their lives? I’ve harped on this a number of times and I don’t think I got much of a response.

The second major point of realization for me in this thread is that ex Mormons tend towards secular humanist progressive liberal policies and societal changes that lean toward ‘trusting in the flesh’, or in other words,‘it will be all right, we can solve all the world’s problems through our own genius’.

That hasn’t worked out so well in a number of instances where many lives have either been lost or forced into lives of servitude to ‘the masters’.

MG, I have a recommendation for you: read Eric Adler.
"I have learned with what evils tyranny infects a state. For it frustrates all the virtues, robs freedom of its lofty mood, and opens a school of fawning and terror, inasmuch as it leaves matters not to the wisdom of the laws, but to the angry whim of those who are in authority.”

I think I would stand by you and take this one off the agenda for serious discussion within the educational setting. Of course we should draw the line somewhere. It could be brought up though. I believe that everyone should have their voice heard somewhere and somehow rather than simply being ‘cut off’ from participation in society.

Who gets to make these decisions?

You?

MG
