I’m surprised that Disney, once a family friendly company would push inappropriate sexual content on 6,7, and 8 year old kids.
Yet not surprised enough to question if the rightwing propoganda machine you take your news from may be presenting the issue in a false and biases manner I guess.

April 19 (Reuters) - Florida education officials voted on Wednesday to ban classroom instruction on gender identity and sexual orientation in all public school grades, expanding on a law signed by Republican Governor Ron DeSantis that barred such lessons for younger students and was derided by critics as the "Don't Say Gay" bill.

Last year, DeSantis signed legislation that outlawed instruction on gender identity and sexual orientation from kindergarten through third grade, arguing that parents, rather than teachers, should decide when to discuss those subjects with their children.

Reuters good enough? Disney was against this legislation, right?

That is a news article summarizing events. The argument you believe is that Disney is pushing sexually inappropriate content onto kids as are educators and others in Florida. Reuters isn't agreeing with that position. Geez.

The example of allowing debate over the global flood being taught in schools while acknowledging there needs to be a line drawn somewhere just not between religious myth and scientifically defensible secular criteria pretty much sums things up as to why this is heading for 90 pages now.
I went back and listened to the video clip.
Hold the phone. So after I replied you got around to checking out the clip in Cam's post? Not back when you were claiming we should give the claimed position a reasonable 6-hour hearing?

You do realize my point is you are just a religious crusader here battling your own demons in your imagination, right? Cuz that is exactly what you just did above. Religious topic deserves to be heard! Wait, it's being compared to alien pyramid builders? Let me actually, you know, actually check out the material being defended. Whew, it's some lady saying Darwin is not more provable than the biblical account of a 600 year old building a boat and surviving a global flood that caused all the fossils. Checks out. Have at thee, secular leftist heathens!!!!

Keep posting, MG. Your lurker fans deserve your dying commitment to uphold the flag on this hill. Oh the songs they shall sing...

The fact is that Disney was against what some people were calling the “Don’t say gay” bill. In other words, Disney was not supporting the legislation put forth by DeSantis which would prohibit the age inappropriate curriculum being taught to Kindergarten through 3rd grade students.

Clear enough?

Sheesh.

Question: Are you in favor of age inappropriate sexually explicit material being taught to little children in Florida schools?

Do think that parents should have the final say in the matter?

Disney Corporation didn’t.

And now they’re paying the piper.

Good for DeSantis and good for the parents who weren’t going to bow down to the leftest liberal thugs who would steal away the innocence of little children.

And this is why, again, I think this thread is worth the time spent for me. It delineates some important differences between many secular humanist progressive liberals and those that take theism as their guide in their personal lives and act upon those things they know to be true/right as they get involved in government institutions/education of their children, and setting forth legislative action at the state and federal level.

Folks that would condone the teaching of age inappropriate curriculum to innocent little kids are going to stumble elsewhere.

In my opinion anyway.

I went back and listened to the video clip. To have a discussion on the topic of catastrophism as a theory in earth’s development/creation seems to be legit. Comparing different theories is useful and even important for a well rounded education. Looking at the slide on the YouTube clip shows catastrophism as being in the curriculum guide.

Before making hasty judgements we ought to have access to more of the conversation than a thirty second or so clip.

But here we/you are, doing just that. At least I think so…

This habit of making hasty judgments could be multiplied by the thousands, me thinks.

Did you watch the whole video of the discussion? If so, could you link to it?

Clearly aliens didn't build the pyramids but this book of semitic mythology that claimed a 600 year old built a boat that allowed every species of land animal to survive a global flood deserves a hearing...why?

Would you mind linking to the book you’re referring to and also link to where that particular book is being discussed for entry into Utah State Curriculum? Time stamp and link to full video presentation. Thanks.

So, bub, are you going to cough up the answer to my three questions or just run circles around them on a technicality?

Another technique I see way too much of. Don’t actually engage. Defray.

I’ve seen this over and over again. Not gonna fly.

So far so good. Sounds like a fact.

Oh, wait. Here comes an, In other words:
In other words, Disney was not supporting the legislation put forth by DeSantis which would prohibit the age inappropriate curriculum being taught to Kindergarten through 3rd grade students.
Oh, MG.
Clear enough?
It's been clear all along. You don't know the difference between facts and rightwing propoganda.
Question: Are you in favor of age inappropriate sexually explicit material being taught to little children in Florida schools?
Nope. Are you in favor of Mormons kidnapping teen virgins and transporting them though tunnels between temples to marry greasy old men and force them to join their polygamist harems?

What? Assume that's a fact because someone asserted it is regardless of the merits of the point outside of some religionist bias.

Thanks! I’m going to spend some time watching this clip rather than the short clip I was linked to earlier within the Reddit link referral.

The question is whether or not this discussion should even have seen the light of day. Period. Right?

I’ll check it out and give my opinion/input later.
