No, i am not arguing against medicine. The point is that you should have your hair fire in context. Its not a point about how there are so many more dangerous odds out there, but rather a point about why you suddenly want to burn the village over this one particular "odds".
Why your takeaway from me posting those odds was that i was. calling for the disregard of medicines is baffling, but understandable when considering your penchant for presuppositions.

The CDC publishes a well-respected publication called the Weekly Morbidity and Mortality Report (MMWR). It's been interesting lately because it provides in-depth information you don't get from reviewing top-line numbers of cases, deaths, etc.

This week they published a review of death rates in U.S. Assisted Living Facilities. The fatality rate for residents in those facilities diagnosed with COVID was 21%, contrasted with 2.5% in the general public. Earlier studies had concentrated on nursing homes.

According to my local health department, despite extensive effort to protect the vulnerable populations in care facilities, its proven nearly impossible to do so, especially as prevalence in the general population increases. The notion that we can "protect" those most vulnerable to the virus while everyone else goes back to "normal" is delusional.

In the study, which was carried out in April and May when Danish authorities did not recommend wearing face masks, 6,024 adults were divided into two groups, one wearing face masks and one control group.

After one month, 1.8% of the people wearing masks had been infected, while 2.1% of the people in the control group had tested positive, Copenhagen University Hospital said in a press release.

“The study does not confirm the expected halving of the risk of infection for people wearing face masks,” it said. “The results could indicate a more moderate degree of protection of 15-20%, however, the study could not rule out that face masks do not provide any protection.”
