I am inclined to underestimate google, asking it what is davidic servant in LDS thought and stuff comes up. here is a piece of a blog article. I have not read the whole article. It appears to have much about this idea.

Why is there a Davidic Servant? Because Joseph Smith said so! In his sermon regarding the spirit and power of Elias, Elijah, and Messiah, Joseph Smith mentions a David to come.

Although David was a king, he never did obtain the spirit and power of Elijah and the fullness of the Priesthood; and the Priesthood that he received, and the throne and kingdom of David is to be taken from him and given to another by the name of David in the last days, raised up out of his lineage. ~ Joseph Smith, March 10, 1844

Well. There it is. I've been debating this topic online for years, and there are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who are very resistant to the idea of a Davidic Servant,..
I am bothering with this out of a bit though limited curiosity and a bit of annoyance with High Spy acting all mysterious with his secret davidic servant bit.

this article linked to a copy Times and Seasons February 15,1842

Ezekiel after giving a description of the resurrection of the House of Israel, and the coming forth of the stick of Joseph (Book of Mormon,) and its being united with the stick of Judah (the Bible;) and also the restoration of the House of Israel, that are in a state of mortality, back upon their own lands, says: “Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions; but I will save them out of all their dwelling places wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God. And David my servant shall be king over them: and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them. And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherin our fathers have dwelt, and they shall dwell therein, even they and their children, and their children’s children, forever; and my servant David shall be their prince for ever. Moreover, I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore. My tabe[r]nacle also shall be with them; yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people, and the heathen shall know that I the Lord do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the mid(s)t of them for evermore.”—Ezek. xxxvii. 23–28. The above quotation has a particular allusion to that portion of the righteous that will remain in the flesh, and dwell on the earth, and eat the fruit of it. But the difference that will be, satan will be cast out of the earth, and he will have no power to tempt or deceive them: they will a[l]l be righteous, and not defile themselves any more. The Lord will set his sanctuary in the midst of them, and they shall multiply and be increased in number,—which they will continue to do, during the Millennium. The fact that they will multiply and increase, shows that they will be in a state of mortality.
The immortal saints will be made kings and priests, and they shall reign with Christ; but is is not said that the mortal ones shall be made kings and priests, to hold authority with Christ like the immortal ones, while in a state of mortality; only they shall have a king, priests, and all other necessary officers, to administer all ordinances, and perform all necessary ceremonies. We mean a king that shall be chosen or proceed out of their midst. Isaiah speaking of this day says, the Lord will restore their judges as at first, and their counsellors as at the beginning. This will be the time that God will restore their kingdom unto them which the apostles alluded to when they inquired of Jesus, if he would then restore the kingdom to Israel.

not sure why there is a line through some of that, I had a touch of difficulty posting it.

Off topic, well I might imagine a connection or parallel with a magic man sort of savior David Servant and the parody of that burning man. Well people may relate to the burning figure in different ways as they wish.

I found myself comparing Biden, a competent aging fellow appearing a bit ordinary, to Trump who projects a swollen image some people see as superpower. To those hoping for a superhero Trump manages to project his image into those hopes. From my short online review of people excited about a Davidic Servant it appears they tend to be Benson inspired marshaled against the commies (or is it now commucrates) taking over the government and building a new world order. Normal power is corrupt so a supernatural superhero is needed. You know like Trump.

In this way the thing is hardly limited to Mormons but there are just special Mormon variations on this. It is like the Eric Metaxas fellow who praises Bonhoffer as an example of Christians standing up against corrupt government, like ours, which is leading us into globalist destruction of freedom and Christian values. Metaxas thinks we all must get behind Trump the supernaturally chosen superhero.

But that is a bit dull, why not imagine superheroes?
Or supervillains. Trump is a villain on the order of Thanos. Good thing he has not found the magic gemstones, but he has captured the hearts of the majority of Mormons. Perhaps as a supervillain, Trump can function as the Mormon Davidic Servant. Trump's power to distort the truth could lead to an abundance of converts and maybe even keep young members from leaving.
