Will you get your results straight away or do you have to wait?
We have this thing called a patient portal which has all test results, health history, visit summary, and also a message system. My guess is that the results will be posted in the portal tomorrow. I've made a pact with myself not to look at it...and I know I will fail.
CT Scan experience:
I've had one before but this one was different. I had to fast from noon until I showed up before 3 pm where they gave me a big gulp size cup to drink some horrible supposedly lemon flavored drink for an hour. I did what I was told. So like I said, I've had a CT with contrast once before. They do a kind of a run through where you follow the directions for the scan ...breath in, hold, breath out, twice. They do that run through twice. Then the scan takes like oh seconds.
I FELT LIKE CRAP
I remembered the feeling of being warm all over from prior experience. What I wasn't prepared for was nausea and...heart palpitations. I think I actually had a panic attack because I said to the girl in rapid fire...
I'm feeling some palpitations
I'll be okay, I think everything says afib/rvr
Can I sit up?
Can I take this blanket off?
Can I stand up?
Can I go now?
Thank you so much.
Have a great rest of your day and get the Amazon rompers!*
Flight or fight.
I flew.
Got out of there to the entrance, told myself (self talk)...you just have to get in the car, just get in the car. Got in the car, heart pounding. Just sit in the car, do your breathing, drink your water, put the electrolytes in the bottle, open the package, pour it in, drink, breath, if you can't get your heart rate down, just drive over to the ER and tell them you need help. Pray, pray, pray. Started the car, drove out of the underground parking lot (car park) drove to the outer road, pray, pray, pray, I need to stop, pull into that parking lot and just sit there...heart rate was normal sinus rhythm and was pretty sure it was slower.
My gosh, by the time I got home I felt so much better but I felt totally beaten up.
Side effects. Yes. Bathroom type stuff.
I ate a small bowl of homemade chicken soup, made a cup of tea and just ate a slice of homemade apple bread.
I do feel better but exhausted. Anxiety stuff, I know.
*Rompers from Amazon. She gushed over the outfit I was wearing. It wasn't small talk, she actually gushed. She said how much she loved my outfit from head to toe (hat girl here), where did I get the rompers (Iike linen shortalls), your outfit, your hat, your hair... you look so cute in every way! I told her my age. She said , but you look so good! You're so cute!
So that was nice.

She said she has a pair of black rompers at home never worn yet but she liked mine better. I told her to treat herself to the linen ones off AMZ. I should've told her where to get the fedora. I think it makes the outfit.
Anyway, one test is in the books. Not gonna lie. I hated it. But it's done!
I have them in 4 colors.
