LOOK it's basically commanding the entire army of major organ systems:

The left vagal nerve runs down the left side of your neck, and the right vagal nerve runs down your right side. This nerve extends all the way from your brain to the large intestines: down your neck, through your chest, around your heart, around your lungs, and through your abdomen and intestines.
Interesting fact: The reason they named it so is because word "vagal" comes from the Latin word for wanderer. Same etymology as the words "vagrant", vagabond", and "vague".
Nice. How do you say "I hate my vagus nerve" in Latin?

Checking in with myself and anyone who happens to read here.

1. Aiming to do fasting blood labs tomorrow (Monday) already putting it off in my mind to Wed, but I'll try to shove myself out the door tomorrow.

2. CT scan scheduled for Tuesday.

Feeling about ready to jump out of my skin entirely. I jumped down the Boy's throat instead.

Overthinking as usual:

I've tried not to google symptoms/conditions and failed several times. I don't have all the major symptoms of anything that I can see. It could be anything that's wrong with me. Or a couple of things. Anything from a (putting my crazy out there again) bacterial overgrowth in the small intestine all the way to cancer and everything in between--blockage, tumor, damaged vagus nerve, whatever the heck else. Maybe it's just aging stuff. Maybe I need antibiotics or surgery or chemo or I eat on an infant schedule and suffer like a dog and never ever eat a Jersey Mike's sub or chicken nuggets from Chik Fil A or an ice cream sundae from Freddy's for the rest of my life.

I've actually not been physically suffering much for the past week...a little discomfort...but nothing over the top.

I have in the back of my mind, and have for a long time, that since this started after Covid it could be Covid related and yes, I looked that up too and yes, it's a thing and no, it doesn't happen right after you have Covid. I read one account that started 4 months after mild Covid...which is what I had. There were others similar to that...on Mayo Clinic comments.

I pinpointed the first event. The worst one ever. April 1st. I had Covid the first 2 weeks in December.

The thing is...is that if it is Covid related the scientific community doesn't know a whole lot about it. The accounts I did read involved antibiotics treatment that resolved the issues.

Trying to keep busy and moving. I know better than to deal in "maybe" but I'm right here doing it nonetheless. Thinking up what my personal worst case scenario might be and trying to figure out how to deal with it. When something is hard, I always try to come up with the worst case scenario and make a plan for it. I figure I can always trade down from there if a lesser thing happens.

I'm basically insane. This shouldn't be news to anyone on the board who reads me.

The other thing is...is that I'm actually a healthy person. I'm active, doing things, not couch potato-ing in front of a TV. So whatever this is going on I have no clue.

So I'm also clueless. :?

I've made a pact with myself not to open the patient portal because I'll get the notification via email when the CT scan results come in. I know I'll look at it anyway.

I've been panic shopping online. Not tons and tons of stuff. Let's just say about a third of the Christmas shopping is done (so people can have gifts in case I die) and I've got coming...seasonal wax melts, a jacket, used ebay book, and a pumpkin cutting board that I don't need coming on Tuesday when I get the CT scan done as a reward to myself. Already delivered were a bunch of other smallish things. So far no major purchases.

Almost done painting the kitchen. Some small wall area left to go. Actual wall area, not the cutting in all around cabinets and tedious type stuff.

Did I mention I popped a crown out of my own mouth? Yeah, that happened. I'll get on that whenever. It's on the list.

Thanks for reading if you did!

More tension relieving writing. We hope.

Since I'm having these diagnostic tests run I'm gonna go out on a limb.

If I had to throw a dart and hit something real fast, I would tell you that something is wrong with the lining of my stomach. Like inflammation. Like gastritis. If I had to pinpoint a cause, I would say autoimmune or bacteria related.

Let's see how the dart lands.

God help us all and the Jersey Girl. She wants out of this mess.

Thanks so much. I punked out of the blood draw today. Wasn't feeling it. Will get to that shortly. I had a CT once before. It was easy except I have to fast for a few hours for this one but that's not a problem. I think I have to eat some nuclear concoction for this. Maybe I'll be glowing!

We have this thing called a patient portal which has all test results, health history, visit summary, and also a message system. My guess is that the results will be posted in the portal tomorrow. I've made a pact with myself not to look at it...and I know I will fail.

CT Scan experience:

I've had one before but this one was different. I had to fast from noon until I showed up before 3 pm where they gave me a big gulp size cup to drink some horrible supposedly lemon flavored drink for an hour. I did what I was told. So like I said, I've had a CT with contrast once before. They do a kind of a run through where you follow the directions for the scan ...breath in, hold, breath out, twice. They do that run through twice. Then the scan takes like oh seconds.

I FELT LIKE CRAP

I remembered the feeling of being warm all over from prior experience. What I wasn't prepared for was nausea and...heart palpitations. I think I actually had a panic attack because I said to the girl in rapid fire...

I'm feeling some palpitations
I'll be okay, I think everything says afib/rvr
Can I sit up?
Can I take this blanket off?
Can I stand up?
Can I go now?
Thank you so much.
Have a great rest of your day and get the Amazon rompers!*

Flight or fight. I flew.

Got out of there to the entrance, told myself (self talk)...you just have to get in the car, just get in the car. Got in the car, heart pounding. Just sit in the car, do your breathing, drink your water, put the electrolytes in the bottle, open the package, pour it in, drink, breath, if you can't get your heart rate down, just drive over to the ER and tell them you need help. Pray, pray, pray. Started the car, drove out of the underground parking lot (car park) drove to the outer road, pray, pray, pray, I need to stop, pull into that parking lot and just sit there...heart rate was normal sinus rhythm and was pretty sure it was slower.

My gosh, by the time I got home I felt so much better but I felt totally beaten up. :(

Side effects. Yes. Bathroom type stuff.

I ate a small bowl of homemade chicken soup, made a cup of tea and just ate a slice of homemade apple bread.

I do feel better but exhausted. Anxiety stuff, I know.

*Rompers from Amazon. She gushed over the outfit I was wearing. It wasn't small talk, she actually gushed. She said how much she loved my outfit from head to toe (hat girl here), where did I get the rompers (Iike linen shortalls), your outfit, your hat, your hair... you look so cute in every way! I told her my age. She said , but you look so good! You're so cute!

So that was nice. :) She said she has a pair of black rompers at home never worn yet but she liked mine better. I told her to treat herself to the linen ones off AMZ. I should've told her where to get the fedora. I think it makes the outfit.

Anyway, one test is in the books. Not gonna lie. I hated it. But it's done!

I have them in 4 colors.
